Hello, my name is Irys. I am a full-time student at Augustana College. I own three dogs myself, with the oldest being about 15 years old and the youngest being 5 months. My oldest dog was a rescue, my second comes from a trusted breeder, and the third is from the shelter I volunteer at. On Saturdays I volunteer at an animal shelter and primarily work with the dogs there. My responsibilities include walking, feeding, giving medicine (usually orally), and if necessary small grooming. I have also fostered young dogs and puppies for the shelter. I have experience with cats and giving medications to them as well. I have been around dogs my whole life and I have learned a few training techniques from my grandfather who used to be a dog trainer at Contented Canine. I am familiar with working with both small and large dogs as well. Starting Aug. 31, 2020, I will start my junior year of college and my availability for dog walking/care will lessen. I will continue to be available on weekends however, and will try to keep my calendar as updated as possible. Due to the current pandemic as well though, I will not be as available as I was in the past.
