Best Animal Lover In The Bay Area

Pet care experience

Welcome to my page, I look forward to supporting you and your fur babies. ❤️ Ask me about my pet birthing services. Ask me about my pet grooming services. First time rover used get $20 off of their first booking. Ask for my code! Two things to know before continuing to read: Prices fluctuate depending on demand and availability. 24-48 late notice booking requests for new clients will be $75-$88 per night. Hello there! Thank you for taking out the time in your busy day to check out my page, I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies! My name is Iris and I’ve been dog sitting with Rover for 4 years now! However my experience and love with animals goes back 20 years, I couldn’t imagine my life without them. I grew up with animals and have such a genuine love and appreciation for humanities’ best friends. I was an only child so many of my companions and first friends were our family and neighborhood animals. If I wasn’t loving my own pets I was finding abandoned pets to bring home. One day I hope to continue my love and capacity of caring for animals as a foster mom until they find their forever homes! One of the best things about being an animal sitter is that I get to meet new people and new pets to add to my photo album of pet sitter memories. I grew up watching lots of Animal Planet shows about cat and dog breeds so adding a new breed to my album is always exciting. One thing that I feel that sets me apart from other sitters is that I have helped to birth many puppies and kittens as well so I do have knowledge in caring for pregnant animals and newborn litters. I like to think that I have experience caring for animals from their mother’s womb well into their senior years. I have always felt like animals have been drawn to me and I to them as well. Thanks to Rover I finally found a way that allows me to work closely with animals and I couldn't be happier. I’ve never met an animal who didn’t like me or feel safe around me. I can assure you your furry family member will always feel welcome and safe in my presence. I also specialize in herbal natural remedies for animals as far as topical treatments go. Whether it be skin infections, rashes, legions or nasty cuts on your furry family member I can heal them at a lower cost than going to the vet. However, I never use these treatments unless specifically given consent by the owners themselves. I will follow your lead on rules and systems that you have in place for your pet’s unique care so it will be like you never left! If your pet isn’t allowed on furniture or to drink from the toilet or snack from the litter box it won’t happen while you are away. Even if you don’t have a set of rules for your fur babies they will let me know! Pets tend to tell on themselves giving the eyes of shame if they are engaging in activities they know you wouldn’t be too happy about. All instructions will be followed and schedules will be kept for your fur baby. If your pet is on medications for infections or due to old age please be sure to communicate this to me. So there isn’t a lapse in their medication schedules while you are gone. I work from home as an event planner and social media manager so I have plenty of time to give my undivided attention to your fur babies needs. While you are away having your fun time, your fur babies will be at home enjoying a vacation of their own. It is important that your fur babies are given the consistency of care in their routines while they are under my watch. This is incredibly important for fur babies that have separation anxiety or aren’t used to being around strangers. Think of me as your second set of eyes, ears and hands for cuddles and rubs while you are away. I work from home so it is easy to fit your fur babies unique needs into my schedule. This way they get the special attention and care that they deserve. I find that this allows me to help limit the fur baby's anxiety about being away from their owners. I get to spend time with cute animals and owners get to relax knowing that their baby's care is in my hands. This way everyone wins! Also if you have people that come over to provide services such as gardening, house keeping and pool services let me know. I will make sure that they have access to your home at your request. I can also take out garbage cans for trash day and water your plants too while you are away. For boarding services your fur baby needs to have flea treatment. Bathed 1-2 days before your fur baby’s stay starts. Ask me about my pet bathing services.

Iris took good care of our cats while we were away, but when we arrived home the house was not in the same shape it was when we left it in, which is typically the case when we have a sitter but could have been a miscommunication on our end (bed was unmade and sheets/towels unwashed, making it difficult for us to come home and relax after a long travel day). Our microwave was in a new place and there was some takeout trash left in the fridge. One of our cats never warmed up to Iris unfortunately, and it seemed like they may have been a bit overfed (they weren’t hungry for dinner and there was leftover dry food in their bowls). Overall, we are grateful to Iris for trying her best with our two cats.

Iris is great. Our German shepherds can be a lot to deal with, but she handles them well. She's very organized, timely, and communicates as much as we ask. She has been reliable and is very easy to work with. We'd recommend her to anyone.

Iris did a great job caring for my fur family while I was away for 4 days. I appreciated the care she provided and her flexibility and patience with them. It really eased my mind to know they were in good hands!

Information Iris G. would like to know about your pet

Here are some questions that you can expect for me to ask during our initial meet-and-greet: Are you your fur baby’s first owner? How long have you had them in your life? I encourage you to share a brief detailing of you and you and your fur baby’s journey together. Does your pet currently have any therapeutic or medical needs or unique needs I should know about? If your fur baby(ies) is a dog, what are their interactions with other dogs like? Please give detailed information regarding their socialization habits. What is your fur baby(ies) (dog)’s behavior like during their walks? Do they pull against the leash? Do they tend to rush towards dogs, pedestrians, cars, cats ect? Do they have special commands that are used in the home or on walks? How is your fur baby’s behavior around children, I have none of my own but I want to be sure that your fur baby(ies) is safe during walks. Are there any other dog’s in the neighborhood that you have concerns about when walking your fur baby(ies)? Sometimes neighbor’s dogs can get out and I want to make sure we are both safe on the walk Is your fur baby potty trained? Does your fur baby(ies) have any no no spots? (Spots where they may be tender or painful to touch or become aggressive if touched). What is your fur baby’s feeding routine, schedule and portion sizes Meet and greets are a wonderful arrangement to not only get to know you and your fur baby(ies) but to best understand their care and to communicate any worries you may have. You also have a chance to get to know me as well, be sure to have an arrangement of inquiries for me too. If there is any other important information you want to share, please don’t hesitate as no detail is too small or insignificant for me to know. If I am with your fur baby(ies) for more than 10+ days I can also provide free basic grooming services at no extra cost to you. As long as I am able to safely bathe them as it is up to the fur baby(ies).

A typical day

Because I work from my own flexible schedules I also need a routine of consistency to stay on track as well. My typical day is to wake up early to greet the sun and center and ground myself for the day ahead. When a fur baby is in my care a part of my morning routine is tending to their needs while in my care. We could stroll around Lake Merritt or explore their neighborhood, if your dog has a favorite park let me know. I find that plenty of play time with their favorite toys, long walks and attention helps keep fur babies happy while their owners are away. After we get our morning exercise, stretches in belly rubs in, I'll be busy away at my other jobs that allow me to work from home. I ensure that all of my personal errands are done before my booking with your furbaby so they will never be left alone.
