Pet care experience
I recently returned to the US after living in Germany. I'm a life-long animal lover and believe all pets deserve exemplary care. No two animals are alike, but all benefit from the love and calm leadership I provide. As a person with exceptional attention to detail, I take the time to notice the exact way you carry out a routine so that I can ensure I don't disrupt the flow of the home and cause undue stress. I don't brush small things aside; if you use a green leash on Sundays and a purple leash on Tuesdays, I make note of it and make sure I do the same. If one dog gets 3/4 of a cup of food, and the other gets 1/3, I make sure those measurements are correct. You're trusting me with caring for your best friend and I take it seriously.

India has been an absolute blessing for me and my feline companions. She has provided top-notch care for my cats on several occasions while I was away on holidays, and I cannot speak highly enough of her dedication and genuine love for animals. From the moment India met my cats, I could tell she was a true animal lover. Her warm and friendly demeanor instantly put my cats at ease, and they took to her immediately. She not only ensured that their basic needs were met but went above and beyond to make them feel loved and cherished. India provided regular feeding, playtime, and cuddles, making my cats feel super comfortable while I was away. In addition I was impressed by India's commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. She maintained the litter box impeccably, ensuring a fresh and comfortable environment for my cats. Additionally, she took it upon herself to keep my apartment neat and tidy. I was pleasantly surprised to return home to a spotless living space that was even cleaner than when I had left. Beyond her excellent pet care and housekeeping skills, India is a joy to work with. Her pleasant personality and excellent communication skills put my mind at ease while I was away. I knew that my cats and home were in capable hands, and India provided regular updates and photos, giving me peace of mind and allowing me to enjoy my vacation without worries. In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend India to anyone in need of a cat sitter or house sitter. She is a responsible and caring individual who treats pets as if they were her own. My cats adore her, and I am incredibly grateful for the peace of mind she has given me during my travels.
Rosie is the shyest cat ever. Whenever guests visit, she runs and hides under the bed until they leave. Once I had a house sitter who didn’t see Rosie for the whole month because Rosie would only come out she went to sleep. Whenever I went away and had a house sitter, I used to worry that Rosie would get out, be afraid to come back in the house with strangers, and get eaten by urban Coyotes -- or waste away cowering under the bed, alone and forgotten. Then India came to pet sit. She knew how to win Rosie’s affection, slowly and consistently. More, she bothered to spend the time and attention, gently, on Rosie’s terms. By the end of the stay, Rosie would be waiting for her return at the door. When I returned from my month- long trip, Rosie looked better, happier, better fed, groomed, confident, and content than she did before I left. Plus, the house looked equally well-cared for. Now when I travel, I always ask India first, if she can stay. She’s totally responsible and reliable. And, not only is she responsive to the cat; She’s responsive to me too: quick replies to email questions and updates! India’s the best. She has my 100% recommendation.
I've known India for 3 years. I have two small dogs: one is a senior and one is a high-energy rescue with some health issues, so both have very specific needs. I've called on India to walk, feed and house-sit when I'm away, and I can always rely on her being ready and willing to stop by to check on my pups or spend a couple hours with them if I know I'm going to have a late night at work. In terms of details, India pays particular attention to each dog's needs. She listens when I let her know of a change in routine or feeding regimen, or if a particular medication has to be administered. She follows my instructions and is great about sending requested updates. She takes her work seriously and has definitely gone above and beyond just being a "dog walker": when a cat fell from a tree and got caught in my backyard, I didn't know what to do (I'm not great with cats), but I knew who to call to help. I can tell that she loves my dogs and they absolutely love her!

When I am staying in a client's home, I make sure I'm clear on any expectations for routine and environment. I am calm, quiet, and fastidious. I pay attention to things like gates or doors being closed, clean surfaces, and tidy spaces.

Age, breed, current activity level, amount of previous training, any human and/or dog aggression tendencies. I also want to know what your expectations are of me as the sitter/walker.
A typical day
I cater each activity to the animal, but overall I believe exercise and positive mental stimulation are key components to a happy and healthy animal life. With Dogs: Dogs will get a walk catered for their needs or abilities and plenty of playtime! I love seeing what types of activities dogs take to: all dogs enjoy something, and it's my job to figure out what it is and do that activity with them. Training exercises help keep a dog's mind occupied, and a good walk will make sure they're not climbing the walls by dinnertime. With Cats: Cats need just as much stimulation as dogs, but in a different way. Hunting is a core aspect of a cat's existence, so I like to use toys that stimulate the hunting instinct. I also like using food as a "catch" (reward), so I incorporate small treats into play sessions. I am also experienced in training cats for harnessed walking, which can be a wonderful experience for cats who otherwise lead primarily indoor lives.
