I lived with my family dog, Molly, for about 14 years and she left a mark in my heart. When I moved to Scotland (about 10 years ago) I lived with dog owners and looked after them from time to time. I knew I wanted to be surrounded by animals so I volunteered to look after my friends and co-workers pets any chance I had. I've gone in long walks with Misty and looked after Willow (border collies), challenging but rewarding task, as Willow is a reactive dog. I have done some dog-sitting in Edinburgh with Kya, a lovely black lab and that was an amazing experience. I even lived and learned how to take care and hang out with Cluji, a cute and cheeky domestic parakeet. I have also looked after Vor in Glasgow (a friend's old German Shepard, he is a sweetheart but big and strong boy!). Most recently I have been looking after my flat-mates Chihuahua Charlie, who is certainly a grumpy (but many times loving) old boy. I have gone in long walks with my friend and her two rescue Greyhounds, Polly and Frankie and learned lots from her as she is quite an experienced dog parent. I volunteered to look after someone's pet rats and that was so much fun! I even volunteered at an Edinburgh-based small pet foster organization and looked after small rodents for a while. I have a deep love and passion for animals, I enjoy being around them and I am a very understanding and patient person of every pets needs and characteristics. I have dealt with a range of personalities and behaviours and I love making animals feel safe and loved. A lot of my friends own pets so I have access to their knowledge in times of need on top of my own personal experience.

Idioa kept me updated with daily updates and photos of Tilly which put my mind at ease whilst we were away. Tilly is nervous around others but completely took to Idoia and Nick and enjoyed all the fuss and attention they gave her in our abscence. We came home to very well looked after dog. Would highly recommend and will most certainly be booking again. Thank you 😊
Idoia is incredibly compassionate, patient and calm. She walked, fed, played with and trained my doggo willow for more than a year and was always respectful of the guidance I gave her, as well as communicating with me suggestions that I might take on to ensure his wellbeing. Willow is reactive (nervous) and Idoia was incredibly calm and loving and understanding when he would panic. She has a way of soothing animals (and people) that is truly a gift to all living creatures. She even helped me to find perspective when I found it difficult to manage. If you would like any more information I am always honoured to discuss this wonderful human being. Sincerely, Paige
Idoia has cared for my 2 greyhounds, Frank and Polly. Frank is quite elderly and loves a cuddle, Polly is nervous around other dogs and also loves a cuddle. Idoia is sensitive to their individual needs, also she is kind and gentle with them. I feel she cares for them very well and that they are safe and happy when they are with her. They both get excited to see her :)
Idoia took great care of our labrador Kya for us a few times while we were on holiday. Kya absolutely loved her stays with Idoia, which were full of fun, going on walks, playing with a ball, making friends etc. Kya was always delighted/ waggy tails when seeing Idoia. By knowing she was well cared for and having fun, made us able to totally relax while on holiday - we couldn't have ask for anymore. Idoia is super kind, reliable and great communicator - you couldn't ask for a better petsitter. We would highly recommend.

My partner and I live in a ground floor flat in a very quiet area with a back and front (not gated) communal gardens. Our home is located just a five minute walk from Glasgow Green Park so we can have plenty of walks and play outdoors. We also live near a train station so if your pet is happy to travel on public transport we can go for further adventures.

Information Idoia H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know about any particular needs your dog may have or behaviours I need to know about, specially for when we go outside. Do they like to go on long walks? Are they generally okay being approached by people/other dogs? Are they sleeping on their bed/crate or do they like to stay on the sofa? And any other needs they may have such as diet/medicine they need to take, etc.
A typical day
Depending on your dog's needs we will go for short local walks or long ones and adventures. We can play at home and we can take many breaks as we live near Glasgow Green and have access to a back shared garden. If your dog likes to stay home we can hang out together and they'll get plenty of pets and chill time.

I'm currently working part-time as I am a part-time student. On my days off work I will spend all day home with your pet and we can hang out or go on short or long walks and adventures (depending on their needs). I tend to work on weekends, mostly during the day 10-5pm but in those days my partner Nick (who works from home) will happily look after your pet. I love to take breaks during study days from home so daily walks are perfect for me.
