I can say of all the sitters I have had for Kasper ms Escudero was by far the best, unfortunately she moved and my dog has never been cared for by a sitter only family. She went above and beyond and my baby always was so happy to go stay with idania she actually became an extension of our family. God bless people that look after doggies and give them 150% of quality treatment I give her 5 stars and one day hope to have Kasper be in her care again

Don't be fooled by her photos and reviews. Like the reviewer below us, we will never trust our dog with Idania again. It doesn't help that one of the stellar reviews she's received is by her partner/brother. We were going up to NY/NJ for the weekend and needed someone who could watch our 1-year old dog for one night since my husband's parents do not know how to take care of a dog. Idania lives near my husband's parents and had great reviews, so we booked her for a night not knowing that we'd never see her the entire weekend. Calling the number provided by Rover, I was surprised to hear a man, claiming to be Idania's brother, answer and explain that Idania wasn't there at the moment (something I'd hear a lot this past weekend) but that he was operating a pet hotel business with her. After being told to check out their website, we went ahead with the reservation to stay with Idania Friday night. On our way up to NJ Friday morning, we called to get the address and confirm our dog's stay. No response. We called a phone number we got from the website, and Dayron, the man claiming to be Idania's brother, picks up again and very curtly tells us that he's expecting us and instructs us to go to the back of the house b/c there is construction in their front. After arriving, we called and again no response. A second call later and Idania finally answers and tells me that she's out right now but her partner is home. I call Dayron again and he comes and lets us in. There were 4 other dogs they were watching and seemed generally good, so our initial apprehension somewhat subsided. I filled out a long form detailing our dog's habits and medical info and provided Dayron feeding instructions. He proceeded to tell us about their business and out of the blue began disparaging another local business (their competitor), which we thought was a bit unprofessional, and telling us that they were the best at what they do and provide excellent care for their clients. I told Dayron to feed our dog a Greenie after dinner and treats throughout the day. I also requested photos of our dog as often as possible, and Dayron agreed he'd do all of it. We left somewhat relieved. Five hours later, we had not heard from Dayron or Idania with photos of our dog. I texted and waited but to no avail. After calling Dayron, he claimed he sent me photos but that he'd resend them. I got a few photos, all of which appeared very staged and unnatural, as if he had forgotten and just posed our dog in front of the camera. I thanked him, but an immediate panic fell upon me, and we seriously contemplated cutting our vacation short and pick her up the first thing in the morning. But the next morning, we decided to stick with our original plan and pick her up after dinner. We got a few more photos in the morning, but none for the rest of the day. I kept texting Dayron and Idania, and got a very belated response from Dayron and no response from Idania. At this point, I was so exasperated that I had no idea what else we could do. It was too late to cancel our dinner reservation, but decided we'd leave as soon as we finished dinner to rush back and pick up our dog. And that was when our worst fears were realized. We texted Dayron to let him know we were coming around 9pm, to which he said okay. We get to their place 10 minutes before, and find no one home. I call Idania, who picks up and tells me (again) that she is not there and that Dayron went to drop off another dog at Fort Lee and will be back in 15 minutes. Angrily, I ask how that was reasonable given that we agreed to pick our dog around 9. She began getting defensive and yelling at us as if it were our fault that we were early to pick up our dog. She demanded we wait 15 minutes and we hung up. Meanwhile, we hear the dogs barking like crazy inside their house and we're fearing the worst. Another 20 minutes later, with no one responding to our calls, a stranger on a bike pulls up to the driveway and asks if we're here to pick up a dog. I ask him if he works here, to which he cagely responds "something like that." He proceeds to go into the house, and we follow him. The place is a mess, with pee on the floor. I gather our dog, who is shaking uncontrollably in my arms, as my husband quickly gathered her belongings. Meanwhile, the stranger who said he sort of works there explains that Dayron is at the hospital because another coworker got into an accident earlier in the day. Whether that was true or not, we didn't want to hear any excuses, and we quickly got out of there. It took a bit of time for our dog to calm down and discovered that not only did she not eat her dinner (3 hours after the instructed dinner time), none of her snacks and greenies from the night before were eaten as well. And she had a very unpleasant odor on her even though we had bathed her the night before we dropped her off. Even though we were tired from a packed day, we stayed up late to make sure we gave our dog a lot of TLC that Idania and her business claimed they'd give her. There was not one trustworthy thing about Idania that we noticed but none more egregious than her claim that she was out picking up another dog and that Dayron was dropping off another dog in Fort Lee. Not only did the person on the bike and Dayron, himself, contradict that statement, the same dogs that were there the day before were present when we picked up our dog. To his credit, Dayron later called (though I did not pick up) and texted to apologize for not being there for the pickup and claimed he was at the hospital. If that truly was the case, I get it, accidents happen. But as a business, you need to notify the customer what's going on so they don't freak out. Idania never reached out to us to even apologize. I do not know how they can make some of the claims they do, and I don't know how they run a business like this. I whole-heartedly support small businesses and would never want to do anything malicious against someone. But I cannot, in any reasonable fashion, recommend Idania or her business to anyone with the way our dog was treated this weekend.
