Pet care experience
If you are looking for an experienced care giver for your pup, I am the gal' you're looking for! I grew up with a family dog and have owned 3 of my own personal dogs throughout my life. I have been working with dogs for 13+ years. I have worked in the daycare and boarding industry for 10 years. I have also been working with dogs in the training field for over 13 years. I have worked and trained over hundreds of dogs of all sizes, ages, & breeds. I have taught & assisted in numerous group classes such as, puppy classes, agility classes, rally obedience classes, nosework classes, CGC/Therapy dog classes, trick workshops, treibball classes, etc. Not only have I taught countless of group classes, I have taught many private lessons from basic manners to behavior modification (ex. reactivity). I have worked under the wing of Karen Vermeegen, a well-renowned, certified dog trainer located in south FL for at least 10 years. She has been in the field for 30+ years and has taught in various countries. I moved to Boston last summer & currently working my way to earning my masters at BU for special education. I work as a teacher fellow full time, so this will be my summer job. Dogs are my passion and my life! I continue to immerse myself in the dog training community that I have been a part of since the beginning. I also continue to participate in classes, seminars, and workshops as frequently as I can. I am experienced handling special needs dogs. If your pup needs to be given any medication during their stay, I will gladly administer their med(s). I guarantee you that your dog will be in the best hands. My promise to you when you pick up your dog is a content, tired and well taken cared of dog.
Reviews
I can't say enough positive things about Ibis. She is a very responsible and caring person who is clearly knowledgable and has a lot of experience with all types of dogs. Our family received daily updates, pictures and videos of Maisy for the 2 weeks we were away. We felt as though Maisy was at summer camp...hiking, playing, swimming, running obstacle courses and solving puzzles! Ibis even bathed Maisy before she was picked up! Daisy became great friends with Ibis's poodle Luna and I think Maisy is even a bit depressed she is not seeing Luna each day! Maisy will definitely stay with Ibis and Luna again if they will have her back!
Ibis is the best! We had her watch our dog Ruby for two weeks, and felt totally at ease with her stay the entire time. She treated Ruby like one of her own from the very beginning! They did some training sessions together during the stay, and we got a detailed report and videos from those sessions that were really helpful. Ibis knows her stuff, is super responsive and positive, very clearly loves dogs, and I would 100% use her again!!
Ibis is incredibly knowledgeable about all things dog! Not only does she love dogs and know how to care for them, she also comes from a background of dog training and is very familiar with canine body language-- two things that make me feel much safer about leaving my dog with someone else. She is also very cognizant of proper dog walking etiquette and how to handle reactive dogs, which can be a very important item to consider if you have a dog that is prone to reactivity or absolutely needs to stay on leash. I would feel very comfortable and assured leaving my dog with Ibis!
Dogs are family, I completely understand! And that's why it can be hard leaving them in someone else's care. Alexa is more than just your average, every day dog lover. She's a responsible, hard working young women who has the experience and knowledge to not only full fill your dog's needs but also go above and beyond. I can whole heartedly say that I would trust my dogs with Alexa any day. If you are looking for someone you can trust and depend on, your in luck because this is just the person you need.

Information Ibis B. would like to know about your pet
I would love to know more about your dog before having them over! There is some information that is beneficial for me to know to guarantee your pup the most pleasant stay. How much & how many times a day? 3) Is your dog people and/or dog friendly? Please be specific. 4) Does your dog have any history of showing dog/human reactivity? If so, please explain. 5) Does your dog have any health concerns I should know about? Any medication(s) that should be administered during their stay? 6) Does your dog resource guard toys, bones, and/or food? 7) Does your dog have any allergies? If so, what kind? 8) What flea/tick preventative is your dog on? 9) Is your dog comfortable to be in a crate? (In case I have an emergency to attend to) 10) What's your dog's personality like? Ex. Calm, active, energetic, social, playful, etc. 11) Has your dog ever been in a daycare setting with other dogs whether that'd be in a facility or home environment? 12) What does your dog enjoy doing the most? A typical day
Your dog will be able to play with my current 10 month old standard poodle Stellaluna who is a well rounded pup that easily gets along with everyone. Not only will your dog have a playmate throughout the day, but your dog will also enjoy outings to nature trails, local parks and even dog friendly stores if I have to run a quick errand. Let me know if your pup would love to go for a little dip, as I'll make sure to go somewhere where he/she can enjoy themselves in the cool water during the summer heat. Or if your dog likes to lounge around, we can do just that as well and take neighborhood strolls! If you decide you want training during your dog's stay whether it's daycare or boarding, your dog will be learning from basics, good manners, to tricks (depending on what you want him/her to learn). Communicate with me before hand what training you are interested in for your dog. I will offer: - Basics (sit, down, stay, come, loose leash walking, hand touches, attention exercises) - Good manners (no jumping, not running out the door, no begging, impulse control, etc.) - Tricks (I will teach your dog what best suits their personality as well what their body structure can allow them to do. I will use their strengths to shape the behavior that will best help them succeed!) - Canine conditioning (it's fun, builds trust & confidence, and keeps your dog fit!) Please feel free to ask me if I can help with any other behavior you'd like me to work on with your dog and I will give you my honest and professional opinion whether it can be done or not or if there are any other options/routes we can take to help you & your pup. TRAINING RATES: - $35 per training session (for the day during daycare/boarding) - SUMMER SPECIAL - Three sessions in a row $85 (three days in a row of daycare/boarding) *These prices do not include daycare/boarding rates!* * Unfortunately, I will NOT be able to offer behavior modification as I don't currently have the facility or the tools to do so. You will receive a summary of your dog's stay as well as a training report (if service requested) along with pictures! * Important - I will be taking an evening class at BU Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 4pm - 7pm. Those days I will be able to only do daycare/walks until 3:30. If by any chance you are unable to pick up your dog from daycare before then, let me know as there are two options: 1. I drop off your dog at your home before 3:30. 2. Your dog will stay in a crate (placed in a safe/secure bedroom with A/C) until I return from class at 7:15. You may then pick up your dog after 7:30. Your dog will be pottied before handed to you. I am very flexible and more than willing to work with you!
