Pet care experience
From a young age I've been very good at approaching pets that their owners considered to be 'antisocial' or 'unfriendly'. I have a strong desire to see shy and nervous pets come out of their shells on their own terms, and have developed a sense of diligence based on this desire. After all, you can't force an animal to be your friend. I have a great deal of experience with dogs ranging from baby puppies to the elderly, and with cats of all ages as well. I offer overnight services primarily due to lacking a fence of my own, but I can provide park visits and walks on most days of any given week. Overnights are no issue and, especially at the moment, I rarely have obligations that interfere. My work schedule is currently very flexible, and unfortunately for me the hours are very low as well. Fortunately for you, this means that I have very little that would require my absence from your pets! I like to schedule meet-and-greets ahead of time to learn from the source the needs and wants of my clients and their dogs, free of charge of course.
Reviews
Ian did a wonderful job with my dogs. He was so calm and caring with them, they took to him immediately. He also gave a timely & thorough report of his visit with them. Thanks Ian!!
Ian is such a wonderful person and so kind to dogs. He did pet sitting at our home while we were away for 5 days. My 2 dogs loved him as soon as he entered the house. My dogs are both very picky whom they will come close with affection. With Ian it was friendship from first moment. Ian was very responsive with chats, sent pictures everyday, and kept the house clean. Nothing more can make us happy 😊
Ian was great, the dogs and cats enjoyed their stay with him. Communicative, followed directions and was tidy in our home :-) Thanks, Ian!
Ian was really great with my dog and cat. He came over a few times to acclimate my dog to him and go over instructions. He brought his dog over to meet Rosie and they had a blast together. He left the house in perfect order and communicated with me daily on how they were doing with pictures. I'm am so grateful to have Ian care for my pets.

As my home does not have accommodations for other dogs, while housesitting for your pets I will will make my presence the top priority and will render whatever services are required. In case of emergency, I'm willing to provide veterinarian visits so long as an address is provided (I would ask for a means of payment for the visit so I don't have to pay the medical bills out of pocket naturally but I'd never put your family in danger over it if you can't get back to me immediately). On the subject of health, if a dog requires medication, just give me the method to administer it and I'll handle it. Believe you me, I've dealt with some dogs who were very reluctant to take their pills but I will always find a way.
Information Ian W. would like to know about your pet
As per my usual method, I like to meet the dogs ahead of time to know if I'll be a good fit for them. Some dogs just don't like certain people and while I've never met a dog I didn't like, sometimes something as simple as having a full beard can be stressful for certain dogs, especially rescues from abusive homes, so it's absolutely critical that I meet them as soon as possible to ensure that my presence does not distress them. Every dog has different needs and I want to guarantee I can meet those needs.
A typical day
For my own dog, I like to take her either to the local dog park or to the walking trails nearby, depending on the day and her mood. If you have any spots nearby that your dogs like to take day trips to, I will gladly commute there for their benefit.

Availability
While my family can take care of them in my absence, I have a dog and an elderly cat of my own so I tend to juggle their care on a daily basis, including walks and small trips on days that permit thenlm.
