Hi friends! My long-time golden retriever friends, Ruby and Joy lived long full lives (15+ loving years) under my care and in their memory, I've trained and walked every dog in my small community in Hawaii. While I am new to Rover, I am not new to the petsitting and walking industry. With over 15+ years of pet ownership, petsitting business and volunteering, I not only take care of your dogs with fine-tuned attention to play, medical care and activity planning, but I also will take care of you, the owners, for a peace of mind. Now that I am back on the mainland, as a regular hiker and outdoorsy athlete, I've taken even the most skittish, pulling and rowdy dogs, cats and the occasional goat and helped harness their energy so that they could go back home to their owners with lovely calm and satisfied energies. I even work with owners for senior care and senior life planning. With my own lifelong pal, Ruby, as she was getting ready to cross the rainbow bridge, we wowed the doctors with her surprising health and mobility even into her golden age, due to our routine activity and arthritis-planning. I have since helped many of my neighbors, friends and family to help their own beautiful seniors transition gracefully into a slower but healthier lifestyle with little adjustments to their routines. I can help your golden partners and pals too!

I honestly hate writing negative reviews, but I am writing this out of the obligation I feel to other pet owners. First, I would like to say that Hyewon/Helen was great with our dogs and very patient with our very fearful one who got aggressive and even nipped her hand in the beginning (later they made up and were snuggling). I am sure most other people would have given up and not taken the time to earn our dog's trust, so I give her lots of credit for that. I am also sure she is great as a dog walker, but I would not recommend her as a dog sitter. We had her watch our dogs in our home while we traveled overseas and she ended up leaving them alone for 10 hours on the second day. This was after we had said that their max time alone is 4 hours since one of our dogs is a puppy and both dogs have separation anxiety. She also didn't walk them as before she left. During those 10 hours, we tried to get in touch with her and her responses were sporadic and vague at best and didn't let us know when she would be back. She rejected our call and would only text. Even if everything she said was true, she never communicated that she would be gone for that long. We understand that things happen, but if nothing is communicated, then we cannot do anything and the poor dogs are just waiting there confused and uncomfortable, needing to be let out. Honestly, the whole thing made for a stressful start to a vacation since we didn't know if/when she was going to come back. We have a camera (which she knew), so we know that the claims she made were false with regards to when she left and what she did that morning with them. We didn't know what we could trust anymore and had to have our friends come take them for the remainder of the booking. When we came home, there was also damage to our bedroom doors from the dogs being locked in there the night before. They have never damaged the house before, so it was really telling.

Hyewon/Helen was great with my dogs at first, taking the time to earn their and our trust. However, after having her sit for us, we canceled all of our future walks.
Helen is a great dog walker! Cooper warmed up to her quickly and is excited for his mid day walks with Helen. She is very attentive, always on time and is great with communication. Highly recommend Helen!

Upon our first meeting, I would love to know everything about your dogs and cats, especially any medical needs, diets, allergies, behavioral issues etc. That way, both you and your dog can have peace of mind knowing that your pets will be safe, happy and healthy during their time! Worried about activity levels? Fear not! My large fenced yard is perfect for the fur babies to relieve themselves as well as routine outdoor exposure throughout the day. My neighborhood is one of the safest in the area and I regularly take strolls around the neighborhood trails and lake access for my own fur babies. Upon owner's request, I can also plan special doggy day hikes for my more active pet friends! I am an avid hiker so I regularly hike 3-10 miles at Brazos Bend (less than 20minutes away from me!) and have a sponsored annual pass to state and national parks for easy access all year-round!

A typical day
The dogs and cats in my care will have loads of fun while the parents are busy! Apart from 3-6 mile walks/runs for your dog (cats too!), I also train basic agility runs in my backyard so your high energy dogs can use their brain while also letting off some steam! I also have loads of brain teasers and puzzles for my canine Einsteins out there, so there will never be a moment of boredom! I am a huuuuge backpacking and hiking fan! My pack regularly take weekends to state and national parks for thru-hiking adventures! For the long stay fur guests, we acclimate the pups with a neighborhood stroll before getting them out there! We also regularly frequent quiet nature trails near my house for our older sweet guests who can enjoy a stroll and for our even older, less mobile guests, we have a pet stroller made to withstand 200+lbs so that even our golden boys and girls can have their moments in the sun and the breeze in their fur.

Availability
I an currently working from home with a wonderfully flexible schedule so I have plenty of time to provide unbridled attention to your fur baby! My mornings start early so I make my way to pick up my fluffy pals at 6am with a 3-6 mile walk, whatever is needed for your spry, energetic or slower but earnest buddies! I make routine drop offs at 6pm every day so if you look forward to your fur babies at the end of a long work day, this is the service for you!
