I have always loved pets. I've been around cats, rabbits, birds, and dogs before, but never had my own dog. I've been living with my roommates and their puppy for almost a year now and I don't think I've ever been closer to a pet in my life. I enjoy learning and it gives me a great deal of happiness knowing I'm giving these beautiful creatures the love and care they deserve. Dealing with a puppy has taught me a lot of things I was previously unaware of. It also taught me a lot of patience. I realized dealing with pets is a full on commitment and it might be no less than having children of your own. My relationships with pets are no different than those I have with people. I believe it allows me to give them the same measure of love I would give to my own.
