Animals have been a constant presence throughout my life. As a child, a dog, as well as a cat or two was always a member of the family. After moving away from home, I took care of two Pets of my own, Baxter, a three-legged Akita mix who I had taken in from an abusive owner, and Percy, my fearless feline companion who I adopted as a 8 week old kitten. Baxter presented many unique challenges, including his physical disability, reactivity from his abusive past, and emotional anxiety. He also came to me underweight and with little prior vet care. It was a long road, but eventually Baxter become a healthier, happier, more confident dog. After a few years together, he now lives with sister back home in NC, his adopted Mom, who helped me bring Baxter back to health, while Percy and I moved to NYC a little over a year ago. Living in the city now I am looking to bring the joy of dogs back into my life, as well as, meet cool cats and kittens!
