Will be your dog’s 2nd-best friend
Pet care experience
I grew up with my beautiful and rebellious black Labrador, Lucy, and we were best friends. I joined in when our professional trainer came by, and learned about tools such as positive reinforcement, where instead of punishing her for doing the wrong thing, we’d reward her for doing the right thing. I learned how to properly hold a leash, and how to check her if she tugged, with a quick tug instead of a long pull (which would have lead to a tug of war). I won’t ramble on about that. I have experience taking care of and training other dogs I grew up with, rowdy or shy, big or small. I still occasionally take care of my friends’ dogs. Long story short, I have never met a dog I didn’t end up befriending! I am also very good with cats; I make sure to never push the boundaries of any animal I work with.
Reviews
I’m Hunter’s mom. She’s great with dogs. I think she was one, in a past life. She’s totally tuned into them and is good with all kinds—large or small, friendly or shy. We have an energetic Lab named Lucy who was Hunter’s responsibility when she lived at home. She also helped train an irascible young pug named Arlo, and often played with a medium-sized mutt named Gibby, both famous neighborhood dogs.
