Looking for hiking/swimming buddy!

Pet care experience

I've been the primary dog caretaker in my family since I was 9 years old, and have owned/fostered many different breeds, from Shelties and terriers to Ridgebacks and Great Danes. I have no breed prejudices, so all breeds and mixes welcome! Many of my friends call me a "dog whisperer." Even my rescue/foster friends say I have an "energy" which makes dogs feel welcome and secure. Personally, I think it's from being a teacher. You don't teach middle school for 25 years without having a calm yet assertive energy...ha ha! I love being active, and will happily walk, jog, or hike with your dog. My last rescue was a Lab, so I'm an expert ball thrower/fetch player. I live near the Blue Hills, and would love to take your dog hiking, and bring him/her back tired and fulfilled. I'm also happy to consider off-leash experiences such as swimming, fetch, play groups, etc. WITH your permission, and according to your parameters. That said, I also have lots of experience with senior and recuperating dogs. I have nursed dogs back to health after surgeries and amputations, and have provided palliative care for dogs fighting cancer, so I am not afraid to take it slow if that's what your dog needs. I also have some training experience, and a few tricks up my sleeve. After my last foster (who was a strong, young, active dog) had knee surgery, I learned a lot of scent games to keep him entertained during his recovery. Bottom line: I'm a mom of teenagers, middle-school teacher/coach, and dog lover. I'm reliable, patient, and compassionate, and will work with YOU to provide what your dog needs... PS. Please note: I am a teacher, so when school is in session, I am away from home from 7:45am to 3:00 pm. If you are interested in booking on school days, please know that I'm available to exercise and feed in the morning, and provide additional exercise/attention/food in the afternoons/evenings, but am not home during the day on school days.

Our dogs, Jefferson and Bobby, stayed with Holly and her family for a week while we were on vacation. We could not have asked for a more perfect place for our pups to hang out. They were well cared for, loved, and got lots of treats and attention. Bobby has some separation anxiety and sometimes has a hard time warming up to new people, but Holly made sure that he felt as comfortable as possible, and both pups came back to us happy and exhausted! We also got pictures every day. Would definitely recommend!

Holly and family were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend hiring her to watch your puppy. My dog was so happy to spend the weekend there

My little Nigel was so happy in Holly’s home. When I dropped him off I had the opportunity to meet her husband and daughter. They are a wonderful family and they immediately made Nigel a part of it. When I have another occasion to return to the area, I hope there will be room for him at Holly’s! Do not hesitate...book her!!

Holly was absolutely terrific with our guy who is very aggressive toward strangers. He fell in love with Holly. She charmed him from the moment they met.
