Your dog’s “B&B” in the country
Pet care experience
We offer in home ‘family’ style dog boarding & daycare here at our pet friendly home, which is just east of Lake Lure, NC. **Please see dog compatibility information below before reserving** We provide a ‘vacation’ for your dog and consider it “your dog’s ‘b & b’ in the country”. During their stay, we will provide you with updates, photos and videos; allowing you to feel comfortable with their well-being. We take their safety and your trust very seriously. Our home is one level, with over 500 sq ft of enclosed decking that overlooks a fenced in large, private backyard. The entire property is also fenced in and we secure the perimeter gates while your dog acclimates, just as added security. *Dog compatibility: I do have animals in my home so for everyone’s comfort, and with previous experience, I do need to ask for the following, I apologize as I know this doesn’t work for everyone. Our dog guests need to be -non-aggressive. They need to get along with other dogs and preferably non reactive to cats, though understanding typically dogs are ‘intrigued’ with the cats and that is fine, just as long as they don’t wish to harm. -They should be under 40 lb due to the size of my dogs -They need to be up to date on shots -Must be on flea/tick control medication. -house trained (or pad trained) -If you’re local, we prefer meet & greets prior My pets: -We do have two small beagles. 1) Tallulah is very friendly, playful small (19 lb) beagle. 2) Tallulah needed a best friend so we have adopted another beagle. Harper. She’s one year old, even smaller (15 lb) and still learning. She can be intimidated/reactive and barks at first meeting, this seems to be mainly with dogs bigger than her. She is does usually end up befriending and enjoys playing with her new friends. -We do also have two cats, Grayson & Roan, when we have new guests they will hide themselves as much as possible initially and just come out for their necessities. I also have a small flock of chickens but your pup won’t interact with them. *I try very hard to make your dog feel apart of our pack and treat them just as special as my own.* About me: Besides being an animal lover & owner my entire life, and with my dogs being like my children to me, I have been fostering, dog walking, pet sitting, and boarding for many years now. Since buying this home, I have had the opportunity to fully commit to boarding I have been on the other side as the dog parent and know what it’s like looking for a reliable dog boarder and one that I can afford - and I want to be that for you! Please read additional info under “details” as to what to expect during their stay. Thank you!!
Reviews
Once again, Holly was wonderful! She was extremely accommodating with schedule changes, flexible and understanding! When my girls come over they get so excited! It’s like they are visiting their favorite Aunt ❤️. This gives me peace knowing they are that comfortable with her! We are grateful for Holly! I would highly recommend!
We loved Holly! She was pleasant to communicate with. She welcomed myself and our pups into her home with ease. She kept us updated throughout their overnight stay, sent pictures and videos. Ive never seen my two pups warm up to someone as quickly as they did Holly! She was great!
Holly was great as usual! The dogs were so happy to spend time with her and she sent updates and cute pictures of all the fun they were having!
Holly is the best! Our little guys had a fantastic time staying a few days, it was relaxing for them. The photo updates were great, we could tell they were in good hands.

Your pets safety is my utmost concern. I have taken extra steps including pet first aid/cpr training, and all Rover training courses. Additionally I will take extra precautions such as keeping my perimeter gates closed entirely while your dog acclimates. If we go for walks, I have a security strap that goes from collar to harness that I can attach (assuming your dog comes with a harness) for extra security. I will contact you daily with updates and photos as well. I’ve been on the other side of this app (as the dog parent) and I completely understand wanting to make sure they’re safe and happy and will ensure you feel confident in their stay.

* prefer crate trained & provided their crate * along with their food, please also bring their bed, food bowls, and treats (we get one mid day and one post dinner treat) * please let me know where your dog sleeps when at home. I can no longer guarantee they can sleep in my bed. One, there’s just very limited room already but also, it just depends on the doggy/cat dynamics as cats sleep in bedroom and Harper can also be jealous. I will definitely try tho if that’s where they want to be.

About their stay: They will be spoiled! I am almost always here, so your dog will receive lots of love and attention. They will be treated as part of my pack. For exercise, we’ll either walk on the private road or play in the backyard. While I work, I have plenty of beds by my desk for them. Weekends we would spend more time outside if weather is good and I’ll possibly take them for car rides and visiting pet friendly locations, but only if you provide permission. For my overnight guests, In the evenings we’ll settle down & snuggle on the sofa for a movie.

My schedule: I work from home 100% of the time and I am a homebody and almost always home. Typically, I may just step outside daily for 1/2 hr to tend to my chickens but can occasionally be gone longer to run errands, etc. (typically weekend day). No more than a 2-3 hours if that occurs. Also I try not make social plans during guest stays (and will flag to you at booking if there is anything already scheduled). if your dog isn’t crate trained, then need to know they’re safe/nondestructive if loose in the house while I’m away during these times. I do have a dogcam and do check on them during these rare times. My pets, and our visiting canine guests, are always my priority and will have all their needs and more met.
