Pet education is one of my passions
Pet care experience
I grew up with pets: dogs, cats, fish, hermit crabs, hamsters, and a rabbit! Not all at the same time. To say I know how to care for various pets is an understatement. I'm more than willing to learn what I don't know. I am a brachycephalic breed lover and educator, a proponent of adoption and fostering, and not afraid to take care of disabled and sick pets. I like smaller dogs. I am also willing to board in my home Frenchies and Boston's as I know the breed, just ask if you don't see it offered. My pet care goal for 2024 is to become better educated in pet CPR/ first aid and deaf dog sign language.
Reviews
Hillary is very dependable and goes above and beyond ! Thank you for taking care of my kitty!
So thrilled Hillary was able to watch our cat. She’s amazing. 100% would recommend.
Hillary was so sweet to our cats. Thank you!
Hillary gave us great peace of mind when we were away! She was responsive with messages and kept us in the loop - will definitely be using her again and would recommend highly to anyone who needs pet sitting!

I feed, water, administer meds, give treats, play, clean litter boxes, let dogs relieve themselves outside, and take in mail, packages, and newspapers. Have also watered plants and fed fish! I also clean pet accidents in the house if I see them. I will leave your house in the same state I found it when I arrived, minus any pet messes. You'll also get at least 1 picture and a short description of what happened during my visit. Usually, the summary sounds the same. I am a creature of habit. I am also terrible at taking pictures! You'll come home to a relaxed pet that's been fed and taken care of. Oh and sometimes, I forget to start Rover cards! But your pet will be taken care of, promise.
Information Hillary L. would like to know about your pet
Things I'll need to know about your pet, AKA expect these questions: Feeding schedule? Where will the food be stored? How to prepare the food? Potty schedule? Where treats and toys are located? Do they have any disabilities? What is their personality? Quirks? Do you expect me to just drop in for food and potty breaks or do you want me to stay for the full allotted time? How to get in and out of your home? Lights, where are the lights?! Where is the bathroom and am I allowed to use it? Make sure you mention anything off-limits! Your phone number and address? Where do I park? Emergency contact and vet information--Make sure that's on Rover! If a dog, all of the above plus: Do they go potty on a leash or a fenced-in yard? How is their recall? Are they allowed off-leash? Are they a runner or bolt-out the door? Do you expect walks? How far, how many and how long? What about playtime and toys? Can they have pet-safe human foods? If we haven't discussed something or I forgot to ask, I'm not gonna do it. Plain and simple. Better to be safe than sorry is one of my many mottos.
A typical day
Please let me know what toys are your pets favorite. Usually I try to get in about 10 minutes of play before I depart your home.
Services
Hillary can watch in your home
Availability
I work full time 8:30 am-5:00 am weekdays. I can drop in before or after work. This means during the weekday I can only visit before 8:00 am or after 5:30 pm. I am free most weekends and usually have to work at most 4 weekends a year. I try to keep my schedule updated as soon as I know of any changes. My family is in NE Ohio so we don't usually leave for holidays. I am currently adding more volunteering to my life and have a very needy family. That is to say, I stay busy! I don't take on more than 2 different clients or 4 visits per day. This is a very part-time gig and I don't want to ever be so busy with multiple pets that I cannot give another pet my all! I currently do not do in-home boarding as I am gone during the weekdays and also do not house sit as I have family that expects me home. I also grew up with big dogs just currently not taking on larger dogs as I'm not yet comfortable doing so. I can recommend wonderful ladies who board dogs in their homes!
