Hello! About us: My fiance and I are an active couple! We have a couple of fur babies of our own - a doggo and a cat. They are best friends but also get into tiffs like a typical brother-sister relationship! Experience: I am an occasional volunteer at the Austin Humane Society, as time permits. Throughout my college and master's program years, I worked as a substitute teacher having to handle and keep track of 30+ kids at a time. Yes, kids are different than pets, but they both require lots of attention and respond to positive reinforcement, love and fun! The kids also taught me that each one is unique in his/her own way and personalities come in all shapes and sizes. The same methodology can be applied to dogs as it will be my responsibility to work with your dog, not have your dog work with me. Growing up, my fiance and his family have fostered and adopted Doberman's who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. We feel we are able to handle any size, shape, weight, behavior or special needs! Our home: Our house is already pet-proof so no need to worry about your pet giving us a run for our money. Our guests will enjoy access to a fully fenced yard, lengthy walks, trips to the park for socialization (per owner permission), an insane amount of toys and mentally stimulating indoor games. If you are working on specific training with your pet, I would be more than happy to continue training him/her. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement training and that well behaved pets are happy pets! Our fur-baby: Our dog Ivy is a phenomenal dog and is well trained beyond her age. She knows how to sit, wait/stay, speak (bark on command), roll-over, "go to bed", bring her leash, find "mom" or "dad", open kitchen cabinets, high-five and more! She is a high energy dog but can read body language well making her the dog handlers would prefer to introduce to aggressive or timid dogs for socialization. She's the perfect puppy pal for your dog! She knows how to befriend all of the dogs she has met at the parks or had sleepovers with or she will leave them alone. I prefer a meet and greet or at the least, a phone conversation to get to know you, your dog, your dog's behaviors and your expectations of me before you book a service with me. I am a believer in transperancy and frequent updates on how your dog is doing. Hosting dogs is more about filling our home with more dogs to cuddle and love than anything else.
