As a young boy, I started out with cats. It was like that until around the time I turned 21 or so where I noticed most of my neighborhood friends became dog owners, but I've never lost my love for cats. Since then I've had a pit-terrier. A Doberman Pinscher named Chance and we currently have an adorable little Yorkie that thinks she runs the place. I've been working the preload shift at UPS for 17 yrs. I'm in at 3:30 A.M. and out by 9 A.M. or so, giving me ample time to prepare for whatever the day's itinerary may be. I live in a side by side with a front and back yard. There's no fence but I have a back-door right of the bedroom where we keep leashes spiked in the yard so they can roam around freely (starting at around 25 ft or so to let them mosey around a bit) and potty. The only other dog in the immediate vicinity is on the next street fenced in so there's really zero chance of any incidents involving other dogs
