Normally my best friend and I exchange dog sitting services. Our dogs know each other, and both dogs are comfortable with each other’s families. Last Christmas we both planned trips at the same time. I didn’t want to board my dog, Lucky, a terrier mix, and thought of canceling my trip. But my sister highly recommended Helena. My sister is pretty particular about who watches her dog, so I decided to drive the hour to Newport to have Helena watch my dog. It was the best decision I could have made. I immediately felt at ease with her. She wasn’t just great with Lucky but she was great with my kids too. Unfortunately my husband wouldn’t let me leave them with the dog sitter. My dog loves my best friend, and her family and their dog but he always gets depressed when we leave him, and he always loses weight. I warned Helena that he would be sad the whole time we were gone and probably wouldn’t eat much. Well two days after we left she sent me a video of her and Lucky playing, and I could tell he was having a great time and it made me feel at ease on my vacation. When we got back he was happy to see us but he wasn’t all “zoned out” and he hadn’t lost any weight. I would rate Helena a 10 out of 10. Your dog will love her.

Helena is a warm and wonderful person who absolutely loves all animals and all people too! She has taken care of my dog, Orio, for 2 over years and he loves to see her when she comes to stay with him. Helena is responsible and careful when she stays in our home and she keeps everything clean and in order and has a green thumb with the plants as a bonus. Helena loves to walk so Orio is exercised constantly and receives a lot of attention as she is an artist and works from home. My dog will stay near her as she paints and she talks to him and makes sure he is content and has water and outside time. I would highly recommend Helena as a loving pet sitter and responsible care giver.
