Pet care experience
I’ve been caring for dogs for as long as I can remember—they bring so much joy, love, and comfort into every home. My last dog, Roxi, was a rescue I found on Craigslist. When I brought her home, she was malnourished, under-socialized, and very skittish. With time, patience, and love, her true personality came out—goofy, affectionate, and completely lovable. Later in life, Roxi developed health issues stemming from the mistreatment she experienced before we met. She eventually needed a feeding tube, and her physical health declined. That experience deepened my appreciation for dogs and their pure, authentic nature. They don’t know how to be anything other than themselves—and that’s something I deeply admire. I’m an avid hiker and swimmer, and I love spending time outdoors with dogs. I’m also a quick learner and happy to accommodate special needs whenever possible. Whether it’s extra care, medication, or just a little extra patience, I’m here to help your dog feel safe, happy, and loved.
Reviews

Helen did great watching our house and our pets. She spent lots of time with them and made sure to take care of their individual needs! Communication was also very good! Would definitely recommend

Helen was conscientious in taking care of our dog and left our home clean and tidy. We appreciated her communication with us throughout her stay.

Excellent dog walker. Would trust her with my dog absolutely anytime!!! She was very patient with our very anxious pup!
She loves animals and works really well with dogs and different size breeds. She is also reliable, sociable, and an excellent person to watch or walk your dog.

Safety, trust & environment
While I don’t currently have a dog of my own due to apartment restrictions, I’m always excited for the chance to care for others’ pets in their homes. I believe dogs thrive when they feel safe, respected, and cared for, so I focus on creating a calm, consistent environment that matches their routine as closely as possible. When I’m in your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I’d give my own. I follow all instructions closely—whether it’s feeding schedules, medication, walks, or just giving your dog extra snuggles or space when needed. I’m happy to accommodate special needs and take the time to earn your pet’s trust through gentle, patient care. Building a bond with your dog and giving you peace of mind while you’re away is my priority.
Information Helen B. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for your pet, I like to know as much as possible to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy. It’s helpful to know: • Their daily routine (meals, walks, bedtime, etc.) • Medical needs (allergies, medications, past injuries) • Behavioral quirks (separation anxiety, leash reactivity, fear triggers) • How they interact with other animals or people • Favorite toys, treats, or calming techniques • Any house rules you’d like me to follow The more I know ahead of time, the better I can tailor my care to your pet’s unique needs and personality. I want your dog to feel like I’m just another member of their pack while you’re away!
A typical day
Every dog is different, so I tailor activities to their energy level, personality, and favorite ways to play! For high-energy pups, I love going on walks, playing fetch, or exploring new trails and parks if they’re up for an adventure. For more mellow dogs, I’m all about slow strolls, gentle play, and plenty of cuddle time. If your dog loves a routine, I’ll stick to it—whether that means morning zoomies or evening chill time. I also enjoy low-key enrichment like puzzle toys, training games, or just hanging out and keeping them company. Whatever your dog loves, I’m happy to meet them where they’re at and make our time together fun, safe, and stress-free.
