Caring for dogs has shaped who I am as a person!
Pet care experience
My love and care for dogs has extended for well over a decade as I have lived with dogs my whole life, however my role as one of the primary caregivers for dogs in my household spans 9 years. Since we got her as a puppy, I have cared for Korra the labrador retriever in all aspects of her maintenance from hygiene, to feeding, to excerise, and to medical attention for her anxiety and allergies. She is one of the happiest dogs I have had the pleasure of caring for, and the love she receives shows in her never ending youthfulness even at nearly 10 years old. Secondly, I have helped raise Buttercup the feisty Boston Terrier since she was only a few weeks old, and have cared for her massive personality and health requirements for 5 years. Beyond my personal experience with my pets, I am known to my family and friends as the dog whisperer for my ability to get along with just about any social dog, and the infinite love I hold for every dog of every breed. I am super excited to get to share the love with your furry friend!

Helaena looked after our little rescue Sophie for an afternoon and I was really happy with the experience. She was very understanding and patient with Sophie who has a very nervous temperament and can be unsure of new people and places. Halaena clearly has a lot of experience with dogs and we hope to use her services again in the near future!
Helaena is a responsible, mature, highly intelligent and attentive caregiver. It is clear the moment you meet her that animals love her and her compassion to them knows no bounds. She is trustworthy and communicative and I have no problem recommending her for all of your fur baby needs. She works well with active dogs as well as those a little older that need a little extra care and routine/medication.
Helaena is amazing with animals. Even the most timid or aloof animal will come to her and lay down for pets. They sense her love and enthusiasm for their company. It is so much fun to watch her interact with and take care of each pet as if they were her own.

I have a fenced backyard with tall private brick to provide your dog with comfort and security during boarding, have access within brief walking distance to parks and outdoor spaces, and live in a dog-friendly area with safe roads. As for in your home, I dedicate my entire attention to your dog’s needs and how they situate in their environment, and will make sure they receive all the enrichment they require to be their best furry selves. I am happy to provide additional resources if need be, and am willing to do periodic house visits to overnight sessions.

Of course, any health or special needs requirement your dog has must be notified to me prior to commencement to ensure both my capabilities and services are custom tailored to their needs. My flat has stairs, so if your pup has mobility issues it might be difficult for me to house them.
A typical day
I live by a variety of amazing outdoor options for furry friend fun, ranging from Seaton Park, the Cruickshank Botanical Garden, and Aberdeen Beach. I also have a lovely fenced backyard where we can have play time with toys. When caring for a dog, my full love goes toward them at all times, whether that be curling up in my lap the whole time, to unleashing zoomies at the park, or being given the most heavenly belly rubs.

Availability
Beyond my studies as a full time undergraduate student, my schedule is fairly open to as much doggy time as needed! Currently, my best availability is Wednesdays from 11am onward, and weekends in their entirety. I am also available Monday and Friday after 4pm, and on Thursdays after 5pm.
