Short Pump dog lover and new mama
Pet care experience
Hello, I'm Heidi! I am a new mom who went from the mortgage industry to staying at home with our baby. I currently work from home some mornings and like to go take my baby out on adventures to parks and events. We love walks, music, dancing, and the library. I am an avid crafter but specifically love crocheting and knitting. I am a rainbow dog mom who lost her fur baby, Waffles, last year due to old age. He was the goodest boy and we miss him tremendously. We have decided not to adopt a dog for a bit while we adjust to new parenthood but we miss having pups around to play with so much! My husband Michael and I live in the Raintree neighborhood nestled in Short Pump near Deep Run Park and would love to have your fur baby stay over to have a home away from home when you need to travel or take vacation. I am a past adopter of dogs and we will be adopting dogs in the near future. For now, your pups would be the star of the show! Requirements: 1. most important, your dog must be good with children specifically babies. My personal rule is to respect it's space and boundaries but any dogs that are not good with children will be an issue that we both do not want to go through. My baby has met a couple of puppies and likes puppy kisses and is gentle but she is still learning her world, too. Please do not hide any issues with this so you can find the right sitter for your pup. 2. all dogs must be housetrained, although little accidents are completely understandable! 3. we are a no spanking household; if you require any specific pet corrections that involve spanking or nose bopping, we will not be a good fit. 4. elderly dogs are welcome, would just need to know their requirements and if dog walks are allowed. My rainbow dogs were both elderly and had a lot of special needs and couldn't do long walks so would just need detailed instruction on their care, preferences, and abilities. 5. My baby and I LOVE going on walks if you have an active dog, I am happy to get us all out of the house but will require express permission on this as well as all walking gear. Your dog must be leash trained and not a strong puller since I would be wearing my baby on the walk. I maybe available for dog walking if you are nearby!
Reviews
Our fur baby was loved beyond what we could’ve anticipated!! Heidi was absolutely FANTASTIC on every level- loving, attentive, communication, sent photos/videos, and so much more! We’ve never left Easton with anyone other than family and she treated him like he was her own! She even did a trail run for us the day before to make sure he’d be comfortable enough for a longer stay because he has separation anxiety - now that to me is above & beyond! She kept in touch with us each day and gave us updates! ! She even bathed him before we picked him up! Her husband and daughter loved on him as well- having someone like her to depend gave us such peace! She is the best!! 10/10!!
Heidi is one of the most caring down owners I know. She loves pups so much that she knits cute and unique dog sweaters. When I come to her home, her two lovely doggies listen to her about not jumping on me. They always seem so happy! I think with Heidi's lovely energy, love for animals, and years of experience, she would make a great dog sitter.
Having worked with Heidi previously, I can factually state that she is an extremely attentive and resourceful person, who stays positive in even the most dire of circumstances. More than that, I've seen her around her two dogs, Nehi and Waffles, and have been witness to the love and care she gives them. You would find yourself lucky to have Heidi spend time with your pets.

When your pet stays, they are at HOME here. They are welcome to be comfortable and unless you have specific rules that they cannot get on furniture, they are welcome! We have covers for the couch from our pup and they can curl up and snuggle with us. If you require crating, you would need to provide, but we have a den and a very large bedroom depending on where they are used to sleeping. We live in a split level home with lots of stairs. Our yard is not fenced so our dog was always taken on daily walks and to the park for special doggy date walks. We are happy to stay in if you are uncomfortable with walks or have a senior dog who is not able to go, or go on few/many walks!

Information Heidi M. would like to know about your pet
It is important that you provide any medical history, medications, and vet information in case of emergency. I would like to make sure we have mutual respect for what is or is not allowed with your pup such as if you are uncomfortable going across to the park or giving treats or pets on furniture, then that is what we will follow when they are here. It is important to know any type of allergies.
A typical day
Your dog will have our full love and attention. We love outside time depending on your comfort level. We can play with toys, tug of war, practice commands, snuggle, and wrestle. Your pup can consider this their home when they are here.
