Pet care experience
I love cats! I have a lifetime of experience caring for cats, and I can't wait to take care of your cat (or cats) while you are away. I have had a cat ever since I was 7, and I have seen it all. I have experience with kittens, senior cats, cats with play aggression, cats with purrsnickety habits, and multi-cat households and all the dynamics that go along with that. I presently have four cats of my own, and I am learning how to clicker train my cats. They can high five, fist bump, and sit, along with taking part in their care. I've read several books about cat behavior as well as being enrolled in Cat School. I love playing with my cats and snuggling my cats and interacting with them. While caring for your cat, I will make sure they have all the essential care a cat needs, and in addition I will spend time playing with them and visiting with them, and giving them pets if they want it. I will treat them like one of my own kitties. If you have a shy cat, you can rest easy because I have gained the trust of every shy cat after just a couple visits. I have experience in giving cats medication, cleaning up cat messes, and I have read several cat behavior books as well as studies how to do the Heimlich Maneuver for cats.

Heather did a great job taking care of our multiple fur babies on a short notice. She is fantastic with handling our senior kitties and with this drop in which also included our dog. She is an excellent communicator providing detailed information about her visit. We are so grateful for her thoughtful and loving nature and cannot thank her enough.
Heather was the best with our two cats while we were away! Her updates were so detailed and definitely put our minds at ease being away from the cats and home. She made time to figure out what each cat liked and made a point to spend time doing it during her drop in visits 😻. We were a little worried about our one sassy cat who is particular about who is around, but she loved Heather. We would definitely recommend Heather for anyone who is looking for a friendly and reliable pet sitter. We loved her and would absolutely book her again!

In a client's home, I follow all the directions for how to care for the cat. I like to do a meet and greet, so that I can take notes and make sure I am caring for the client's kitty in the exact way they would want. I treat the cats as if they were mine, and provide them with attention, food, playtime, and any other care that they would require. I also clean up any cat messes that they sometimes leave behind, so that you won't come home to a surprise several days old.

A typical day

I will let your cat choose what it wants to do, as I know all cats are not the same purrsonalities, and some love visitors, while others are wary. I will make sure your cat feels safe around me.

I work full-time from 7:30-4:00, so I would be able to check in on pets before work, or after work in the later afternoons or evenings. Weekends are open for midday visits.
