Pet care experience
My husband and I moved to SF in 2017 for dental school. We love city life! We now live in Tahoe but come back to SF as often as we can. We have two little boys who love all animals, and especially dogs. I grew up with a Great Pyrenees who is as tall as me when she stands up to hug me whenever I go home. I love energetic dogs and like running or walking with dogs - whichever they prefer! I always love to see dogs having the time of their life down on the beach.
Reviews
Heather and her husband watched my 14 year old senior pup Simba and it went as well! It was my first time using a dog sitter and having an older dog, I was nervous, but the communication was great.
Heather and her husband were so great and just nice people. I needed a sitter in short notice and they were able to help accommodate to watch my senior pup. They were comfortable giving meds as well. Will definitely try to have them watch my little Lucy again.
Heather is one of the nicest, most conscientious pet care providers I’ve ever met I recommend her to anyone who loves their dog
Thank you for taking care of our fur baby again!

Different pets need different care! I try to offer care that is as close to what your pet is used to with you as I can. If they are used to walking a certain route, we’ll go that way on walks. If they like their food served on a paper towel next to their bowl, as one of our previous pups did, I’ll do that. I’ve found that the key to a successful stay is good communication throughout, but especially right at the beginning.
Information Heather S. would like to know about your pet
How friendly are they with babies and children? (Very important since we have two little ones ?) How do they do with other dogs? Do they bark? Are there rules in your house about what furniture they are allowed to get on?
A typical day
I love cuddly dogs! My favorite dog to dogsit before we moved to the city was a 6-lb mix named Claire who prances everywhere. I also love huskies.

Our family dynamic has changed so much since we first started Rovering. We now have two kids who luckily adore animals as much as we do 😊 and Stephen’s dental student days are behind him. I am living the full time SAHM life, which means I’m up early and have eaten two meals and lived 3 lives by 10am (usually involving a walk or playground), and ready to crawl into bed by 9. A dog that needs to be walked first thing in the morning, played with and loved on all day, and taken out again around dinnertime will fit seamlessly into our schedule.
