Pet care experience
I am a dog and cat sitter with over 12 years of experience working with animals. I have six years of experience working as a veterinarian assistant and six years as a dog walker and pet sitter. I have also volunteered at several animal shelters over the past ten years. I am very reliable, friendly, and love to spend time with animals. I can provide excellent references upon request, or you can check out my testimonials here on Rover! I can be trusted to care for your loved ones exactly the way you wish in your absence. I have a pretty open and flexible schedule. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and breeds, including special need and geriatric pets. I am also experienced in administering medications to both cats and dogs including insulin for diabetic cats as well as administering fluids for both cats and dogs. Please contact me for more information! Why I love dog sitting I was raised with dogs, cats, horses, hamsters, and turtles. My first dog was a German Shepard named Sarge who was born just a few days after I was and he was by my side until we were 14. After that, I had several other dogs including a collie mix, an English Mastiff, and a Boston Terrier. I don't have any dogs right now but plan to in the future. I am also interested in working with service animals.

We were so thankful for Heather! She watched our two pups at the last minute when another Rover sitter became ill. They were well taken care of and she sent photos of them snuggled up on her bed happy as can be! thank you so much, Heather, for taking care of our fur babies on such short notice!
Heather has dog-sitted and walked my dog for 2 years. He is a handful but he and Heather got along great, she never had any trouble with him. She is reliable, trustworthy and great with dogs. She has had plenty of experience as a dog walker and also working in vet offices, so she is accustomed to working with dogs with all sorts of different temperaments and also dogs with medical issues.
I have had Heather sit for my two beautiful German shepherds several times in my home. She as wondering! I could tell she gave Atticus and Brad all the attention they needed while I was gone. They took to her right away when they met and she was very good about sending me updates and pictures while I was away. She was also great about bringing in the mail and taking care of my tomato plants. She is my first go-to when I'm planning on being out of town!

I like to do my approach based on my clients request. In general I love to give them lots of attention and love. When clients leave detailed instructions I follow them explicitly. If they are more vague I just fall back on my many years of experience of pet care and just prove them with love, attention and meet all their need.

I would like to know any medical issues they have (alleriges, medications, etc), behavior issues or fears, their favorite toys/games, and if they are dog aggressive. I do not have any breed preferences. I love all breeds.
A typical day
I do a lot of my work from home as a photographer and image retoucher, so I would be around most of the day each day. I am interactive with both cats and dogs, love to go for long walks with dogs (when they can). I don't have a dog myself so I love having the opportunity to play and go on walks with them. I also love to take them to dog parks and the dog beach if they are allowed to go! If you need other things done like plant watering and bringing in the mail and taking out the trash that is no issue. I like to leave people's homes just how they left them.

I have a pretty flexible schedule and I work from home so it's very easy for me to be around to feed them, offer walks and keep them company.
