My love of dogs started in the military. As an interrogator I worked closely with the military police and their canines. After leaving the military I attended Texas State University to study wildlife biology. I have earned a certificate in canine nutrition and attended the Starmark Academy for Professional Dog Trainers earning a certificate as a canine behavior specialist. When I am not training I love improving the quality of life for dogs with fun activities like hiking, backyard play, and neighborhood walks. My goal is to enrich your pets life and help you bring out the best in your best friend. While your dog is in my care, I will always go above and beyond to satisfy your and your dogs needs. I listen to your needs and goals and do my best to carry out any special requests.

Heather is a natural and took care of our baby! We could tell when we picked our dog up that she was super comfortable and loving towards Heather, and TIRED from a lot of play with her dogs too! Heather sent us awesome videos and photos of our girl!
Heather was great! She was very accommodating to our schedule and offered to take our boy on short notice. Heather was able to handle our very high energy boy. She took all precautions with other dogs since he is so high energy. We will be using Heather again!

Safety is #1!! I have leashes, collars, crates in the home, and crates in my car. Any tools we might need, I have them. If your dog is boarding in my home: I have 1/2 acre of fenced in yard for play. Any field trips will be on a leash and travel will be in a 5-star safety rated crate. I always have fresh water available as well as air conditioning in the home and car. Your pets are never left alone. At night your pet will sleep safe and sound in a crate next to my bed. If I care for your pets in you home: I always make sure to ask for any safety concerns you have. For example.. Does your dog like to rush out of the door or fence, do they lunge at other dogs while on a walk, do they know how to unlock the kennel. I always make sure to shut doors and lock them behind myself. I never give treats or food without your permission incase of any allergies.

Is your dog active? Does he love to play fetch? Any information about what your dog loves is helpful. I will always want to know more about the health of your dog as well. Does she have bad hips, any allergies? I want to insure you pet is not only having a good time but is comfortable as well. How does your dog do around strangers, other dogs, other animals? Maintaining a positive state of mind will help your dog release energy. Letting me know what triggers your dog may have can help me decide what activities best suits your dog.
A typical day
Enrichment is the key to making my visit with your dog fun! I love to take dogs to their favorite park, go on a hike, and walk around the neighborhood. Many parks have dog agility courses that can be a real treat for the more athletic dogs. If your dog is a home body fetch is usually a winner but I also love to bring " nose games". Using sniffle mats or hiding treats under boxes or cups for example can get your dogs mind working. An engaged dog is a happy dog! Staying at my home can be exciting too! I have an endless supply of toys and games for the dogs. My favorite is an RC car that has never mets its match when it comes to speed.

I am currently building my own dog training company. As I work to gain a community I am able to travel to your home to check in or walk your dog. I am available weekdays and weekends during the day and night.
