Pet care experience
I’m a mature professional currently working on my PhD dissertation and teaching college classes online, so am available all hours. I have years of experience as a volunteer transporter for local rescues, and have always lived with dogs and cats. Currently I live with an older American bulldog who is a very recent cancer survivor, and a special needs chocolate lab in his twilight years, plus two crazy cats to keep things lively. I am patient with animals, will talk and play with them, will respect your rules and training habits, and do all in my power to keep your animals safe and happy. I understand how stressful it can be to leave your pets in someone else’s care and will do whatever I can to alleviate your concerns.

Any triggers or fears? Do they have a solid recall? Do they expect treats during walks, and if so what kind and for what behaviour? Are there any particular concerns to watch for? I have a soft spot for bigger dogs, but all dogs and cats are awesome.
A typical day
If you have a preferred place for walks we will go there. Otherwise I can take them for a walk around Lake Hefner where we can look for ducks and other water birds, splash in the water (if allowed), and enjoy being in nature. I am also an experienced tennis ball chucker, and I’m good at playing Get the Stuffed Toy and I’ve been told I give excellent belly rubs. If they are working on training I am happy to quiz them on what they know with loads of positive reinforcement. Some dogs and cats just need some hugs or attention, and I’m happy to do those things, too.
