My own dog is reactive so she tends to get nervous with loud noises and is very wary of dogs. So, throughout the years, I’ve learned to notice specific tells and avoid things that can set her off. I’m also very familiar with dogs that tend to pull as I’ve walked the dogs of multiple friends and family before. I currently have two dogs of my own with one being a toy poodle and black labrador/shepherd mix. Both dogs are completely different from each other as their temperaments differ in which one is dog selective, vocal, and prefers people. The toy poodle is very social with people and doesn’t mind other dogs and is fairly relaxed. I have also done cat sitting when my cousin goes on vacation where I do daily check ins to her home.

Safety, trust & environment
In a clients home, I would make sure to quickly open or close the door so no pet can rush out and even before doing that I can make sure they are being distracted so they won’t get loose. This still applies to a home with a fence because cats are lithe creatures. I also like to make sure to ask the client if the pet has any behavioral concerns that I should keep in mind and if there is any supplements they have that they would like me to implement into their pet’s meals. Energy levels is always something that I like to inquire about as well so I know what to expect.

Heather handled my two dogs of different ages, sizes, paces very well with a very short notice. She is very friendly, too. I’m sure she can take care of your pets with love.
Heather was just awesome! Super communicative, and sent updates for each walk that put me at ease while I was away for work. My pup tends to be a nervous one, and so I was immediately put at ease when she met Heather and was calm. You can tell Heather’s great with animals, super intuitive, asked great questions to make sure she was aware of what to do and where to find things. Nia seemed to do really great with her, so I just really appreciate her going the extra mile. Will definitely be booking with her again! 🙏🏽😊

Schedule
I am currently looking for a film related job as I begin to learn about my major so I have lots of free time. I am usually available in the mornings to noon. I can even do a bit more after noon. However, I do like to maintain a balance with my own dogs and caring for other people’s pets. Nights are possible mainly on the weekends, preferably Saturdays but depending on my schedule I can be flexible.
