Pet care experience
I've been taking care of other people's dogs for 20+ years. I relocated to Tucson, AZ in November 2022 and look forward to getting new clients here. In Portland, I had established clients (through word of mouth) who used me whenever they were out of town and have developed some life long relationships with the humans, as well as their fur-babies. My clients appreciate the fact I am reliable, communicative, and responsible. You'll most likely get daily photo updates and your pet might even make a cameo appearance on my Instagram! I have a medical background, so I am comfortable administering medicine. I enjoy all animals, from small rodents all the way on up to farm animals. PLEASE NOTE: I do travel quite a bit during the year, so be sure to check my availability before requesting dates. I do keep the calendar up to date.

Heather was amazing with our 2 dogs. They are large pups and can be a lot to handle, but Heather was so welcoming and put my mind at ease while we were away. She sent frequent pics and updates and our dogs seemed happy and well exercised! She went above and beyond for them!
Heather was awesome and we would definitely use her again in the future! She is extremely friendly and took great care of Blu. She was very flexible and accommodating with pickup and drop off, as well as very communicative throughout our trip sharing many photos and played frisbee with him everyday. Thank you!
Heather is a natural at making you feel at ease and being a cate-taker. I immediately felt comfortable with leaving our pup with her. I especially loved that she sent photos of our puppy. I will definitely reach out to Heather next time that we need a care taker for our doodle.

Keeping your pets safe is my number one priority. Please let me know if your pet doesn’t have good recall or is an escape artist. I also need to know if your dog is reactive, leash aggressive, does resource guarding, or doesn't like kids (I live across the street from a park, and walk dogs there). I want to make sure they are safe and well taken care of.

I like to know if the dog has any anxiety issues, is a rescue, or has aggression issues towards other dogs or humans. I don't have a breed preference. I do well with any breed of dog. I appreciate if the pet owner can give me a good picture of how their dog behaves in a variety of situations so I can be fully prepared and know the best way to take care of the dog.
A typical day
I enjoy taking dogs on long walks in the evening after work. I live across the street from Toumey Park which has a great paved path for dog walking. I do a lot of hiking on weekends, so taking the dog on a long hike is also an option.

I’m currently working remote, full time from home and this works great for taking short breaks with your pet, whether it’s to throw a ball or take a quick potty break.
