Hello, my name is Heather and I am 25 year old college student at Pensacola State College. I have been taking care of animals since I was 19 years old. My very first job working with animals was at Sit means Sit/ Baxter's K9 Complex for over a year with Tony Lampert, a well known dog trainer in the U.S. Their I learned to properly care for dogs, distribute medications, and assist with dog training. I enjoyed volunteering at the local shelters where I grew up in Missouri and learned many valuable skills for my future in the animal field. From Missouri, at the age of 22, I moved here to Pensacola, Florida where I have resided for the last three and a half years. Upon moving here my first job was working for Wright Pet Care, with owner Mary Wright, as an independent contractor in pet sitting. I worked for Mary Wright for roughly one and a half years before receiving a Vet Tech position at Parkway Way Animal Hospital where I have been working for the last three and a half years. My position here as a Vet Tech has taught me so much and greatly expanded my knowledge of veterinary medicine and the proper care for animals of all species. I love my job and love taking care of animals. I will take great pride and caution in caring for your sweet fur kids as if they were my own. I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment with my boyfriend of nine years, Austin. I do not have a fenced in yard, but I do have a fenced in back patio! I also give ample supervised outdoor play time in the sun. I will offer up to 3 walks per day for proper exercise and multiple potty outings throughout the day. I have 2 small dogs of my own, Zoey and Kaia, and also a two small cats, Elsa and Kreature. Dogs are required to get along with other dogs and cats. I will also not take in any dog who is not spayed or neutered due to aggression and marking tendencies. I am open to letting well mannered dogs sleep in my room on a bed that I will provide and or in a crate, which I can also provide. I want your pet to feel comfortable and at home as much as possible therefore, I will do everything I can to accommodate your same "at home" routine. I do go to school full-time and work part-time. This means that I will be gone throughout different times of the day. Have no worries though, I will be home for lunch and breaks throughout the day to care for and let out the dogs for potty breaks and play. Dogs will be left out during the day to roam the house freely unless told otherwise by the owner.
