Their second home away from home

Pet care experience

***Please read the Rover Guarantee*** https://www.rover.com/ca/guarantee/ ***there could be another clients pet(s) in our home during your pets stay and/or overlap in clients pets!! ***Dogs boarding in my home must be fully vaccinated and up to date (including bordetella also known as kennel cough). Pets new to any type of vaccine (ones requiring booster or a vaccine where just the one shot required) will need to wait 14 days before they board with us. This keeps not only your pup healthy but also ours as well. Don’t forget your pets Lyme, flea and deworming treatments. Speak to you veterinarian to make sure your pet is covered and up to date. ****** we won’t accept any breeds that are banned in Ontario. *****we only accept dogs who are trained, well behaved and doesn’t destroy property. If your pup is prey driven/chases/herding unfortunately this won’t work for us as our 2 cats have had so much down time since March 2020 that they now have become quite nervous of dogs who chase them. The cats still need to be able to roam their own home freely without being sent into hiding. ***Dogs will always be walked on a leash. We don’t go to dog parks. For a speedier process when filling out your pets profile also do the extended profile as well-that cuts back on the back and forth-it asks if your pet is good with children, cats and dogs. In their care info please include any info you want me to know about your pet-especially their feeding times/amounts and medication that needs to be administered. Please send me a screen shot of the vaccines as well. I walk with my dog daily. I am home full time and will treat your family pet with the same love and compassion as if they were my own. I’m an animal lover and want them to trust and love coming to spend some time with our family so your family can enjoy time away knowing that their best friend is well taken care of. I have volunteered with the OSPCA with taking sick/or pregnant moms/moms with babies in tow into my home and care. I am able to administer medication if your pet requires it just from my own personal experiences. I have experience with administering insulin for a family cat and checking glucose levels as well as giving oral medications.

Heather is by so far the best cat sitter we ever had. She deserve more than a 5 stars rating. She is amazing, reliable, and a fantastic care giver. Tuesday she noticed that Rusty was not peeing. That morning she immediately contacted us to let us know as she was really concerned about him. Heather informed us of thru texts and many phone calls. That same day with our permission she brought Rusty to her vet to get checked. Our vet was too busy to see Rusty and Heather suggested we give her vet a call. Within 15 minutes of that call Heather and Rusty were there. Sure enough Rusty had a urinary infection and other issues. I am so thankful for her observations and immediate feedback. She continued to follow up with us on hIs prognosis. Every day she alway keep usinformed of her visits with Rusty and provided great details of what she did that day, she sent us many pictures of him, and even took the time to Facetime with us so we could see him and talk to him. She is truly an animal lover, she saved Rusty’s life. If there was more people like Heather, the world would definitely be a better place to live. We are extremely grateful for that and always will be. Rover! Heather deserves a medal, she truly does. Rusty says thank you. ?

Information Heather G. would like to know about your pet

Any animal that comes through our home would need to be good with kids, cats and other dogs. I will not accept aggressive animals into my home. A meet and greet is a must to make sure our home works for you/your pet and us. I require that you leave behind the information of the veterinary hospital that you use in case of any emergencies as well as an emergency contact number of person(s) not traveling with you.

A typical day

Walking locally, socializing with other dogs, play/interaction with your pet. Make sure they are fed, fresh water and a comfy place they can consider their second home while their families are away. If you have bell ringers for bathroom breaks we have a set at our back door. Our guy Tulo has taken the whole bell system to another level, he rings them, gets my husband off the couch and quickly takes his warm spot:p Communication with the owners can be via telephone, text messages, pictures, videos and even FaceTime or Skype. Whatever makes you most comfortable. I do need your contact info to reach you in case of any emergency.
