Up for cuddle or a big long hike!

Pet care experience

I currently nanny for a family that has the largest, strongest, most energetic black lab I've ever met, and I've known many! I am responsible for her for when the family leaves town, for up to weeks at a time. My best friend has a cairn terrier named Chewie. Chewie and I have what we call a "two minute rule". When I walk into my friend's house, I devote the first two minutes of every visit to all the Chewie excitement and hugs and kisses.... then she relaxes, and I can give my attention elsewhere without him trying to steal it! :) I was a live-in nanny for two years for a family with two rottweiler puppies. My job included finding and hiring a professional to help me raise and train them. I helped the pups become accustomed to their new family, and helped the three children develop relationships with them. One puppy had an anaphylactic response to her immunizations. My employer commended the way I responded to the scene. My roommate of one year had an english bulldog named Winston. He was my best friend! He was much older and needed special attention. He once fell off of a dock into the lake. He didn't know how to swim. I was first to the scene! I jumped in and saved his life, and walked home soaking wet :) I was a live-in nanny for two years for a family with twin toddlers and a miniature australian sheppard named Kona. Such a smart dog! Definitely at her best when she has a job! Among other things, I was responsible for helping her develop relationships with the new additions to her family. Kona is anxious and very particular, and not a fan of children. It took a lot of time and effort to earn her trust. She was my responsibility when the family went away for weeks at a time. My employers told me I was the first nanny she ever took in as family-- She barked at all the others for years on end! When I was a teenager, I spent three summers nannying for two kids with two german shephards. Jasper and Calipso. They were very well trained and incredibly intelligent. I've never known such good listeners. It was so much fun to play with them! My sister has three rescue dogs- a Black Lab, a Pit-Bull and American Bulldog. Such gentle giants. She loves them so, and they love her. I was their go-to sitter for years! I grew up with a house filled with animals. We had a mutt named Cha-Cha (black lab and beagle), two cats ( a father and a daughter) and a couple gerbils. My childhood best friend had tons of animals! We lived a few blocks from eachother. Her house was my second home. She had a black lab, a three legged chihuahua, a pitbull, and a pot belly pig. We spent all day every day with them! We once wrote rap songs about each of them and called into our local radio station to rap about them on air... welcome to ask me about it! I once stepped in and gave doggy CPR to a pug that had just collapsed in a park. I helped the owner (a perfect stranger who was in shock) take the pug to the nearest vet. They gave me the biggest hug an pet owner can give. I am athletic, and LOVE to go for long runs and walks. I also love a low key cuddle with older or more timid/calm/inactive pups. I understand that some animals just want to co-exist, and not be bothered too much. Ok! I can tucker any animal out, keep them safe, and give them the compassion and attention they need when they are missing their owners.

Out of 100 I would rate this sitter 110000. Heather goes ABOVE& BEYOND. Some people do less than they're required, some people do just enough to satisfy the job and then there's people like Heather that do an incredible job plus more than you even asked for. she not only helped keep my pet happy and healthy while im out of town but was available to help me last minute managing my vacation rental properties and booking scheduling and supervising movers, landscapers, handymen etc. Shes down to earth, reliable, organized, extremely tidy, and my little fur baby zen literally adores her. It is so COMFORTING to know everything was taken care of so perfectly by Heather while I was away. I've never come home to a more content pet or a cleaner house! Heather was recommended to me and I highly highly recommend her as well. She is just an absolutely incredible person and I am thanking my lucky stars that I found her! If you're considering her among others, do not hesitate to hire her. You will be thankful you did! She's the best. Thank you again Heather! You're awesome.
