Pet care experience
Dogs have always been a big part in my life. I have owned several of my own and have been the puppy raiser for guiding eye dogs as well. I have extensive experience (12 years) working as a dog walker and dog sitter but I've been a dog lover my whole life :o) I've worked with dogs in all kinds of environments from the hustle and bustle of downtown Boston to hiking in the rural areas of CT and VT. I'm happy to provide services for whatever your dog needs, if they are up for hiking (safely) then let's go hiking! I am also more than happy to have dogs stay at my home or go to the dog's home. I'm comfortable working with all dog types, big or small, young or elderly! Additionally, I have basic knowledge of first aid and capable of applying medical care if a pet has specific needs.

Heather was able to help with my puppy Kenobi on short notice and did a great job taking care of him! I got several picture/video updates throughout the day and he had fun playing at her home.
We couldn’t have left our puppy in better hands, Heather took great care of her and she was so happy and well taken care of when we returned from our trip! Heather is a very pleasant person to work with, communicates well and left the house exactly like we left it. Highly recommend her!
Heather is one of the best. She is dependable, clearly loves dogs and loves being around them. Compassionate and understanding on how important these furry four-leggeds are to us and my Finn seemed to love her! No instruction was too much - she was very understanding and didn’t want to miss a thing. .i had no concerns leaving my house or love bug in her hands. Definitely would recommend and have her join us again.
Heather is so sweet and did a great job taking care of my pup (who is a little bit nervous).

I like to have an understanding of the dog's daily routine and quirks so I can provide a sense of normalcy and a calming atmosphere for the dog. I would adopt those approaches to the best of my ability if the dog was to stay in my home. I do tend to prefer to take care of the dog in their own home especially if they tend to be more anxious or have separation anxiety. I've worked with reactive dogs as well, so I would want to know that info. as well, so I can respond accordingly.

A typical day
Dependent on the needs of the dog, we can be couch potatoes or go for long walks/runs. I’m a very active person so I don’t mind taking a dog on a run that also enjoys that type of thing. I usually like to get a dog outside every couple hours, but if they prefer to hang out and take long naps, we can do that too since I have the flexibility of a home office.

I work full time from home so I am available to take dogs for walks throughout the day, and at their service during the day if they are boarding with me or if I'm working from their house.
