Friendly & warmhearted grad student

Pet care experience

Hey, I'm Heather! A little bit about me: I'm originally from Wisconsin and have lived in Colorado for the past 3 years. I am a graduate student who loves coffee mugs, camping, and sand volleyball. I've had a variety of experience with dogs over the past several years. When I was 13 years old our family adopted a spunky Yorkie-Poo named Roxie. She is back in Wisconsin, taking frequent naps under the maple trees & barking at the occasional rabbit. My other experience includes: house-sitting my professor's Labradoodle, watching & caring for my relatives' elderly Pug while they were on vacation, taking care of my neighbors' pets while they were up north (consisted of daily check-ups, feeding, changing water, playing), and fostering a Calico cat. I am a full-time graduate student who is taking classes & working, so my availability changes week to week. I will try to make myself available as often as I can & I am always willing to work something out with you. Feel free to message me with any questions! I look forward to meeting you AND your pup(s)!

Heather has been an avid animal lover since she was old enough to stand, and still is to this day. Her lifetime fondness of animals is evident through her consistent loving and respectful treatment of animals (and people!). Along with that, Heather's friendly and trustworthy personality aligns with her capability to care for people's pets - including her own! Growing up, Heather had a yorkie poo (Roxie) that she took very good care of - giving baths, cuddling, feeding, playing, picking up poop, brushing, walking, you name it! Not to mention, Heather has read countless educational dog (& cat) books at the library, and is no stranger to to the specific needs of dogs (and cats). All in all, Heather's aforementioned qualifications undoubtedly make her perfect for a position like this!!

Information Heather A. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences! I love ALL dogs. Things I would like to know beforehand: 1) If your dog is potty trained. The only thing I may be able to teach your pooch is a few simple tricks. 2) In every dog sitting/walking business there will always be a few dogs that are wary of strangers & may act aggressively toward them. If your dog has any aggressive or violent tendencies, please clarify that immediately. Initial wariness of strangers or protectiveness of owners is normal. However, anything beyond that basic level is out of my realm.

A typical day

Walking around the neighborhood, walking in a park, playing fetch, exploring, sniffing around, jog, etc. If your dog is older or has a disability that prevents him/her from romping around & playing, we will take it easy on our walks! We can take shorter routes & walk slower. Let me know of any other accommodations your dog may need, and I am more than happy to oblige to them!
