Pet care experience
I am a current graduate student through San Diego Zoo Global, with my undergraduate in Animal Science from UC Davis. My passion is for conservation education, making sure that every animal has a voice. All aspects of my life revolve around animals, literally! In the past I worked for PetSmart PetsHotel taking care of dogs and cats and I currently work in the education department for Helen Woodward Animal Center, teaching humane education to kids of all ages. I have watched friends/neighbors animals (of all kinds) since I was a kid and therefore have experienced both the joy and craziness of petsitting. I will love your animals as if they were my own, and some people even say I have a way of making all animals love me (even the creepy crawly or slithery ones). I also am a fitness enthusiast so your dog will get nice long walks if they need it (or lots of cuddles if that is their preference)!

Haylie stayed in our home with our three pups for a long weekend and we couldn't be happier with how everything went. From the initial meet and greet until our return home, I felt confident that our very loved family members would be safe and were well taken care of. During the meet and greet Haylie got on the floor let my pups crawl all over her. She told me about her extensive experience with animals and seemed very knowledgeable. While we were gone she kept in contact and sent reassuring texts and photos letting us know that everything was going well and that they were enjoying lots of snuggle time. Haylie double-checked with me before we came home to make sure that our return plans were all in place, and even asked that I let her know when we get back to make sure that everyone was all safe. I really appreciated knowing how much she genuinely cared. When we returned our pups were cheerful and happy and our house was spotless. I am so glad to have Haylie as a trusted sitter and will definitely be calling her again.
I have two rescue dogs whom do not do well in a boarding situation when I am out of town, but are okay with in-home care. I am so glad to have found Haylie, and my pups absolutely love her. She is thorough with her care, ensuring to stay within rules of the house for acceptable behavior (ex. no jumping on visitors, and sitting before being released to eat meals), and gladly stayed in the guest room of my home so they would not be alone at night. I've had to leave my dogs multiple times for long weekends, trips, or holidays, and over each period Haylie took great care of my pups. I received updates on how they were, and she did a wonderful job walking them, playing with them, and cuddling with them. One of my pooches can be reactive to other dogs, and Haylie did not have a problem handling her while out in the park. Haylie is responsible, reliable, caring, and very respectful. Each time I came home to find my home exactly how I had left it. I would highly recommend Haylie to any pet owner who wants good care for their furry critter. It should be noted she is also good with exotics, and has experience with parrots, reptiles, small mammals, and amphibians.
We love Haylie! She has been my dog sitter since she was a teenager. She has grown up with 4 of our 5 Shelties. My fur babies (Dakota, Nikko, Kalia and Kai) looked and look forward to her loving pets and visits. My girl Kalia will cry and wag her tail when she hears her voice! Haylie is dependable and trustworty and now as a young adult highly professional. We would recommend her to all pet owners!

I don't have any breed preferences. I would love to know if the dog is good around other dogs/people while on walks (so I can anticipate things better once out on a walk). I also like to know if the dog has any allergies or any known medical conditions so I am knowledgeable if anything happens when the owners are away.
A typical day
I take my dogs walking (or running) around the neighborhood, visit parks to play frisbee/fetch, spend time lounging outside on a warm day or cuddled inside with a blanket on a cold one, and of course spend lots of time playing with the pups favorite toys!
