I have owned my own dog, Cali, for 11 years now and through the years, we have enjoyed hiking, training in agility, and other adventures. I also worked at a dog daycare in Nova Scotia for a year and a half before moving to Ontario to begin graduate school. I am actually still in contact with some pet parents of dogs I worked with at the dog daycare, and often "steal" their dogs for a walk or visit when I am visiting Nova Scotia! :) I pride myself on being a knowledgeable and passionate dog person who goes above and beyond for not only my own dog, but any dog in my care. Also, I promise to send you as many photos/videos of your pet as your heart desires because my camera roll currently has over 10k photos of my own dog, so I understand how important that is!

Anyone needing someone to look after their dog (or dogs), can certainly rely on Hayley. She has a great love of dogs and is extremely knowledgeable about them. She puts their care and comfort first and foremost. She knew more about or dog than we did! She didn't just walk our dog, she saw some issues he had and gently worked with him and offered us training advice, which was very helpful! Hayley is the best dog sitter I know and we'd certainly would have her again if we could!

I live in an apartment building so I am primarily hoping to offer dog walking or drop-in visits in clients' homes, although I would be open to offering a daycare service to older, smaller dogs. As a previous dog daycare attendant and a knowledgeable dog person, I am hyperaware of the environment and dog behaviour in order to ensure the safety of the dog I am taking care of. As my own dog is very tiny, I am very vigilant when we are out adventuring in order to keep her safe, so this vigilance extends to other dogs I take care of in order to ensure their safety as well. I also have a vehicle so can drive dogs to lower traffic trails, etc. if need be.

I would like to know about any reactivity or other behavioural needs so that I can plan accordingly. I have worked with my own dog on reactivity so there are no concerns there, but just in terms of planning walking routes, etc.
A typical day
I love, love, love taking my own dog on adventures to different nature trails so the same would apply to clients' dogs. My own dog does not enjoy the water, but I'd also be happy to take clients' dogs to dog friendly lakes upon request.

I am currently completing my graduate school program, and am hoping to have one to three dogs a day to either walk or take care of as I have a very light course load currently and am hoping to make additional money to support myself.
