Pet care experience
I have lived on the Cape for over 20 years, and have cared for and loved many household pets in that time! I have two 9-year-old cats and a 2.5 year old golden retriever. I have experience with a wide variety of dogs through my Golden’s friends :) I’m different than some pet caregivers in that I focus on the animals in my care. I enjoy dog walking and play/care visits because I really get to know each animal and do my best to cater to his or her needs. Different training tools, walking equipment, etc. are all utilized after pet parent discussions. I will always go with our agreed upon plan and use previously discussed walking equipment unless we have spoken about using a different method that we all agree upon and feel comfortable with. I can honestly say Hayley has a special bond with animals. My dog is a rescue and is generally shy around others. It took Hayley only one meeting to bond with my dog and now they are best friends! I see genuine happiness and joy from my dog when she has spent time with Hayley. It's not only playtime, Hayley has been able to work some behavioral training in as well. I am very pleased.

Before dog walking, it is important for me to know how your dog generally does on leash, and what his or her preferred restraint method is (i.e. harness, collar, gentle leader, etc.). I also want to know what your dog does and doesn’t like! Does your dog prefer a loop-type walk, or is he or she content with going out and back over the same path? Does your dog hate other dogs? Tell me! I want to know how to make the experience the best for us all.
A typical day
I am open to doing both neighborhood walks/very local to home, and also transporting dogs to local dog friendly walks and areas depending on client preferences.
