Dogs are people too!

Pet care experience

Hi there, my name's Harry! It's my goal to spoil your dog, and you. I'm great with dogs of all sizes, ages, breeds, temperaments, and sociability levels. All dogs have quirks and personalities that are just as complex as humans - they just can't express them as clearly. Dogs are the most amazing creatures, and caring for someone else's dog is a huge responsibility. Which is why I work extra hard to understand the needs and preferences of your pup, and how best to make them comfortable and happy. I look forward to meeting you and your pet. Please feel free to reach out with any questions before booking! More about me: I'm a 28-year-old software engineer here in NYC. I grew up in a cat- and dog-filled household in Seattle - corgis, dachshunds, retrievers, and more over the years! I shared heavily in all the responsibilities of pet care from a young age. After moving to California and graduating from Stanford University, I lived in the Bay Area for several years. During that time, I adopted and cared for a dog of my own, who was rescued from a puppy farm in South Korea. Unfortunately, she was not able to make the transition to NYC apartment living with me when I moved here. After a year in NYC, I'm not quite in a place to adopt just yet, but I would love and be honored to share the responsibility of helping care for others' animal companions.

the best dog sitter i've ever used. harry is punctual to the minute, flexible (my flight got delayed and he was accommodating with my changing drop off time) and clearly experienced. he sent me tons of photos every day and gave updates / asked questions to make sure my puppy was the healthiest and happiest in his care. daily walks, dog parks, updates on feeding, etc. i highly recommend him - i've used over 5 sitters at this point and he was by far the best experience I have had on this site.

Harry is a wonderful human and pet caregiver. Having grown up with 3 dogs and cared for his own as an adult, he is very experienced and patient with cats and dogs.

A typical day

We'll have lots of walks, belly rubs, and adventures (as appropriate for your pet's age and abilities). There's a surprising number of great little parks and dog runs tucked away in southern Manhattan, and runs along the waterfront are always an option for more active pooches. I have some cool interactive / puzzle toys designed to engage your dog's brain and curiosity, and prevent boredom. I also spend a lot of time with my girlfriend who lives on the Upper West Side, so we can have long wanders through Central Park and Riverside Park, and enjoy the many dog parks in that area (if your pup is social!).
