Since I could walk I have always loved being around dogs and other animals. My mom and sister always brought me to dog training classes with our family dog, Pele, as a child. When my sister got older and went to college, I took on the responsibility of training Pele in a formal dog training group and facility where we practiced both obedience and agility training. I was on the dog parade drill team and was a local favorite with Pele at parades and Children's Hospital events where we showcased our agility skills. During high school and into college, I went on to work at a dog day care for 4 years where I gained experience and knowledge about different breeds of dogs and their personalities. This experience helped me learn to really understand and be in tune with dog behavior. Through college, I always sat for and worked on, training my sisters dogs until I was finally able to get one of my own. I now have my own sweet and well behaved 8 year old Jack Russell terrier, Lucy, that I take disc golfing with me regularly. I believe the key to a well behaved pup is plenty of exercise!
