I have always loved animals and had GSPs growing up so I'm used to looking after friendly energetic dogs. It was 2 years ago when, after years of begging, I finally managed to persuade my boyfriend to get a dog of our own (a very affectionate playful cocker spaniel called Barnaby). We have never looked back and we couldn't imagine our lives and home without dogs around now! I have always struggled leaving Barnaby with other people, especially when friends and family aren't free. I want to offer people a loving family home for their dogs so they can enjoy a break without worrying if their dog is okay. I regularly look after friend & family dogs when they go away - from just the afternoon up to whole weeks. Barnaby is very friendly so dogs who are nervous of other dogs are not suited to our home. Barnaby doesn't like being left alone so I will never leave your dog in the house on it's own. I work from home once a week and my partner works from home the other 4 days so there is always someone about. I am already dictated by Barnaby's schedule so it will just be the case of adapting this to suit your dog. We have a fully enclosed fenced garden which me & Barnaby love to either chill or play in during the day - we would love for another dog to join us. We can do as many or little walks as your dog will want to do. Barnaby likes to have a morning walk for 30minutes and then an afternoon walk for an hour but as long as he gets playtime and games in the house/garden then he doesn't need to do both. We can adapt our schedule to suit your needs. If you have a very energetic dog we can also go for longer walks or more walks - Barnaby would definitely not complain with more walks! We live round the corner from Meanwood park so we tend to spend a lot of time there. After fun filled days we like nothing more than cuddling up on the sofa watching TV before bed - we allow dogs on the furniture. Barnaby sleeps in our bedroom either in his crate (door open) or in bed with us. We don't mind if your dog sleeps with us, sleeps downstairs or sleeps in a crate. Whatever they feel most comfortable with.
