Exercise, discipline, affection :)

Pet care experience

I've been a pet owner for most of my life. I had two diabetic cats and administered insulin twice daily. I am very comfortable doing this for your pets as well. Although I haven't owned dogs due to living in apartments, I love helping out my friends and family by taking their dogs on focused walks and pet setting when needed. I strongly believe in Cesar Milan's philosophy: Exercise, discipline, and affection - in that order! I believe daily walks with a confident leader are crucial for the happiness of your pet. However, you probably don't always have the time for that. I'm happy to help!

Hannah has cared for my pup for about a year now. She has done short-term and long-term sits for me. I trust Hannah with the care of my dog. She treats my dog like she is her own, and I know my pup just loves her. Hannah is trust-worthy and responsible.

Hannah took care of our little shih tzu bichon, Colby, for over 2 weeks while we were on vacation. We were thrilled to have Hannah stay with our dog, knowing Colby would be fed, walked, played with, and provided daily companionship. We are so pleased with the attention and affection Hannah gave our little Colby, and would highly recommend Hannah to be a dog caregiver without any reservations.

Hannah has taken care of my dog, Charlie-a 50lb reactive rescue multiples times and I’m always happy with the service I get. She is professional, shows an interest in the dog’s well-being, trustworthy and very patient! I highly recommend her services.

Safety, trust & environment

I will provide walks in and around your neighborhood. I do not bring pets to my home. I do not have my own dog. I will only walk 1 dog at a time unless they have already been well-trained to walk calmly together.

Information Hannah T. would like to know about your pet

I need to know your dog's energy level. How much training have you done? What kind? How well do they walk on a leash (do they pull, walk at your side, nip at bikers, etc)? Do they slip out of their collar? Do they get frightened at loud noises? Children? Are they at risk of running off in pursuit of an animal or a car? I need ample information upfront to feel comfortable. I am not comfortable walking dogs that are unruly or have a history of being aggressive towards humans or other animals. That includes food aggression. I will walk larger dogs if they are well-behaved and of mild temperament. I am not breed specific. PLEASE be honest about the past behaviors of your dog(s) as I could potentially be putting myself at risk. You know your animal best. I have no judgement and I want to keep myself safe and that requires transparency. I will be 100% honest with you and I expect the same in return. I will administer medications, including injections, IF your dog already takes them well. Meaning they do not bite or struggle. I will need to meet in person first if this is required.

A typical day

I personally believe daily, structured walks are essential for your pet to burn off energy and to behave well for you. I keep dogs walking at my hip. That means I will shorten the leash if they want to wander around, run ahead, fall behind, etc. A focused walk provides one aspect of healthy boundaries that dogs crave. I believe in proactive positive reinforcement in the form of praise and treats (if you wish) when the animal is behaving well. I do not provide negative reinforcement in the form of physical harm or reacting to bad behavior.
