Pet care experience
I was fortunate to be born into a household that loved dogs. Our first was a gorgeous collie cross rescue who loved ducks and couldn't swim (which meant a lot of soggy trousers). Throughout the years of volunteering to care for people's pets and adopting our own, I learnt my love for engaging with their different personalities, building relationships and establishing a strong trust with them. To better understand and help them I studied some of Dr Ian Dunbars work, watched dog behaviour lectures and attended workshops. I went on to become a Dogs Trust puppy training volunteer, as well as a regular volunteer walker and leash trainer for Maxis Mates in Teeside and got a Pet First Aid Qualification. When a friend of mine was adopting two feral, barnyard kittens I was eager to help with cat-sitting and was asked back again once they were fully grown. I've now lived with cats in several households and even took cat-sitting to the next level when i taught my brother's cat how to sit on command. All pets, big and small will be given the proper care and attention with myself. If you'd like to know anything more or just fancy a chat about your pet, please feel free to get in touch. Looking forward to hearing from you! Here is a breakdown of pricing: £65 if your pet can be alone twice daily for upto 3 hours £70 if they can be alone once daily upto 3 hours, £80 alone upto 2 hours daily and £90 if I can only leave occasionally, for upto one hour, or if out of catchment area, (an hour+ drive away). As some of my clients have dogs that can't be left for very long, I'm not able to offer regular walks on a day to day basis as a service, but I can do occasional chunks of time. An hour walk is £20 if in Ashbourne, £25 out of the town. Feel free to get in touch if you would like to arrange a free meet and greet or if you have any other queries.
Reviews
Hannah is so brilliant, cannot recommend enough. She’s super kind and loving, nothing it too much trouble. And she takes time to really understand and do what’s best for Scouty. She’s also obviously very skilful and well trained with animals. Gives me complete trust and reassurance. And Scouty has clearly had a lovely time. Thank you!
Hannah was brilliant with our house full of animals even a cheeky young labrador. She kept us updated daily and was experienced and confident with all of our animals including dogs cats guinea pigs and chicken. I dod not have go worry for a second. She looked after the house lovely as well. Highly reccomended.
Absolutely brilliant care for our dog who suffers with anxiety to the degree where kenneling is virtually impossible. Hannah is bright, friendly and obviously very knowledgeable about all aspects of caring for animals as well as being the sort of person you feel comfortable in leaving in your house. I suppose the best accolade we can pay her is that when we arrived back home Bailey seemed more disappointed that Hannah had left than excited to see us back! Given the experiences we have had in the past with kennels I'll take that as a win anyday. Highly recommended.
Our dogs, and the cat, have always gone on trips with us but this time a family wedding made that impossible. Fortunately we found Hannah. I think we were more nervous than the animals but she put us at ease and kept us informed throughout the stay so we were able to relax and enjoy the day . Hannah was patient and the dogs were at ease with her. Would not hesitate to book again if we needed to do it again. Thank you Hannah 😊

I don't yet offer boarding at my house, though this is something I'm building up towards. Routines in the home sits vary dog to dog which is why a meet and greet is great for explaining the dogs needs. They also provide the opportunity for the pet(s) to meet myself and see if we'll be a good match!
Information Hannah P. would like to know about your pet
If the dog needs to wear a muzzle on walks and if there is any negative behaviour to watch out for. Neither will put me off, it's just good to be aware of these things for everyone's safety. I don't have a breed preference.
A typical day
Activities in the day depend on the dog entirely! For me, it's all about catering the walk or visit to their needs and your requirements to help you both get the most out of my time with them. We can learn tricks, do leash training, go slow for senior dogs, help with redirection and basic commands with puppies and general reactivity.

I admittedly, don't have much of a routine as I like to try and adapt to what the pets are used to. I'm currently studying a dog behaviourist course and have some painting and drawing commissions so if the dog I'm sitting settles and is content relaxing then I'll do something of either of those.
