I grew up on a working horse farm with dogs and cats and now work from home in a sales position. I have two friendly pups - a German Shepherd and small mix breed (both rescues) who love playing with new friends! I have a large fenced-in backyard with a 6-ft privacy fence and a dog door to the kitchen. Since I work from home and I'm usually home practically 24/7 (I only leave maybe 1 to 2 hours per day to go to the gym for the most part) I'll let my guys stay out nearly all day and just come and go freely through the dog door. On the occasion that I do leave, I usually just leave my guys with access to the kitchen and backyard so they can continue to come and go as they please. I do have an extra large dog crate and/or baby gates that I can use to isolate a dog that is not safe to be left on its own in the backyard. All pups are welcome on the furniture, bed etc (honestly my dogs run the house). I do have a 3 cats, so cat friendly pups are preferred. I don't mind a dog with a high prey drive... But I prefer to not have visitors that are outright cat aggressive. I have a ton of experience with difficult doggy health issues - I'm comfortable both with medications and special food or dietary needs. Happy to accommodate any special food, medical or exercise needs. I do also do walks and hikes for my guys as needed but often find they get their full running around in the backyard. I also have snuffle mats and puzzle toys for the inquisitive pups.
