Pre-vet student, loves all animals!

Pet care experience

I love dogs because of their unique personalities! They are such incredible creatures - full of love, joy, and loyalty. The fact that dogs are one of the few animals that truly love unconditionally makes me excited and honored to care for your furry friends! I’m currently studying to become a vet and would love to share my knowledge and expand my experience with as many types of dogs as possible. I know that being your pet sitter will allow me to hone my animal handling skills, make new four-legged friends, and experience the happiness that dogs bring into our lives. When I was eight, we adopted a Poodle mix, Scruffy, who quickly became my best friend. As the animal-obsessed one in my family, I was responsible for a great deal of Scruffy’s care, including feeding, walking, and administering medication. Eleven years together taught me an extraordinary amount about dogs and dog behavior in general. I have also volunteered at animal shelters and veterinary clinics. These two experiences were rewarding and allowed me to learn to handle dogs of different temperaments, dispositions, and breeds. When I’m not studying or spending time with dogs, I love to spend time outside, often around horses! I started riding when I was 10 and have done just about everything possible with horses, ranging from jumping, therapeutic riding with disabled children and adults, carriage driving, and polo. Like dogs, I love the energy and enthusiasm horses have for life. They are elegant and beautiful animals and it is always an honor to work with them. In addition to my love for horses and dogs, I was part of a research study in college involving shelter-housed cats. From this project, I gained enormous amounts of hands-on experience with cats and was able to work with a wide range of felines. Cats have always amused and amazed me with their carefree nature and independence. More recently, I have been working with a few species of livestock, particularly goats. I have discovered a new love for these quirky animals and am enthralled with their lovable disposition. I would be thrilled to offer care to any of these animals through Rover. Though I won’t be able to bring dogs with me to the stables, I would love to bring them on walks, hikes, or around to coffee shops downtown. Having a have a canine study buddy who I could take breaks with by playing a game or fetch or going on a walk would brighten my day. During the evenings, I love to watch movies and TV, which would be perfect for any furry friend who just wants to snuggle!

Hannah was awesome with us and with Bailey. We would highly recommend her both for her special way with dogs (ours has special dietary and other medical needs) and her professionalism in communicating with us before and throughout the two-day dogsitting. Hannah is great and we're so thankful we met her through Rover! Thank you Hannah!!

Hannah was able to sit my rambunctious Golden Retriever last minute. We felt comfortable leaving our family pet in her care and highly recommend her! She’s the best!

Hannah was amazing! She stayed overnight with my dog and gave me total peace of mind while I was gone; I got updates and photos and didn't have to worry about Lily being alone for too long. She even left a note for me and a very cute bandana for Lily =) Thanks so much Hannah!!

Information Hannah M. would like to know about your pet

I always like to schedule meet and greets before a stay and here are a few things I like to learn when we’re together: - Does your pup have any medical or health issues that I should be aware of? What about behavior abnormalities or tendencies? - What is your pup’s normal routine like? Is there anything that makes them anxious or uncomfortable? - Does your dog have a specific activity schedule? How often do they go on walks and how much activity do they need to be happy? - What are some basic commands your furry friend knows and how are they issues? - What are your pup's favorite toys, treats, and games? Lastly, because I offer house sitting services, I also like to speak with you about house rules, the location of necessary items, and how I will be getting in and out of your home!

A typical day

You can feel comfortable and relaxed knowing your dog is with me. On a stay together, your pup will be loved and cared for and will want for not. Together we’ll go on walks, play fetch, go to the dog park (if that’s allowed), and snuggle. As a college student, I have sporadic class during the day and some extracurriculars in the evening, but with lots of free time and gaps, your pup will never be far from my care. I’ll spend my stay making your furry friend happy, making sure they are safe and secure while you are away. I understand how hard it is to be away from your loved one so I am always in contact via text. I respond quickly to any messages I receive and I consistently send photo and video updates of your pup playing or sleeping. I can’t wait to provide excellent care, love, and safekeeping for your best friend!
