We'll Play While You're Away!

Pet care experience

I started dog sitting long before I knew it could be a job. Then and now, I do it for the joy of being in the company of a dog. I have pet sat for about five years now for several different families with dogs of different sizes and needs. Now I am a young professional artist (with a very flexible schedule) who recently relocated to Bushwick, Brooklyn. One of the many things that inspired me to move to the city was a little known book called The Brisk Walk. I encourage anyone who loves dogs to read that book. The author, C. R. Richer, is one of my heros. The book tells the autobiographical tale of Richer's difficult journey trying to make it in the city, and learning to "speak dog," utilizing a loving philosophy, as he began his own dog walking business. Like Richer, my move here over a year ago was certainly a transition. I grew up in rural Alabama, where I worked at Petco, trained and rode horses and ran around with all kinds of creatures. My favorites, however, were my two dogs. They were the most precious things in my life - a rough collie named Kit and a Scottish terrier named Sophie. They both led long healthy lives. Now helping and cherishing other's best friend's is my way of remembering those girls. My apartment in Ridgewood is pet friendly ad pet safe, and is located very near to the Maria Hernandez Dog Park. I also live just a two block walk from Grover Cleveland Park, that is usually the route we walk! My hobbies include people (and dog!) watching, long walks, cooking and baking. The latter I have taught myself to do for dogs after meeting many furry friends with terrible allergies (Allergic to corn or gluten? Try sweet potatoes! Itchy skin? Let's have some oatmeal. Need to lose some weight? They love their green beans!) from my extensive time at Petco. I would love to meet your pal and have a blast. Reach out to me at any time! :)

Hannah was a great sitter for our senior dog. She asked questions before and during the stay, paying attention to his needs and behavior. She sent pictures pretty much every day, was quick with her messages, and just seems to know and like dogs of all kinds. We'd definitely choose her again!

So grateful that I found Hannah! My pup Ruby has separation anxiety as well as some health conditions requiring meds with every meal, so I always get a little anxious when I need to leave town -- but it was clear from the get-go that Ruby was in good hands. In addition to being totally accommodating with my schedule, Hannah sent daily updates with photos and video of Ruby playing fetch and romping around without a care in the world. Simply put, I wouldn't hesitate to leave little Ruby to hang with Hannah again!

Hannah was amazing! Came home from a long trip to a happy pup. She sent me updates with pics along the way so I wasn't worried at all. Definitely booking her again at the next opportunity. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hannah is an awesome sitter and took excellent care of our dog for a multi-day overnight stay. We look forward to having her sit for Skye again in the future!

Information Hannah H. would like to know about your pet

I don't have any breed preferences, although I love small dogs and dogs with herding in their genes! My biggest questions are: 1. Does anything frighten your dog? 2. What age is your dog and what is his energy level? (I LOVE senior dogs!) 3. Does your dog cooperate in an off leash run and are you comfortable with me taking him to one? 4. Any health problems I should know about?

A typical day

Your dog's sleeping arrangement I have a couch and multiple doggy blankets for your dog to sleep on. I have an alcove in the hallway where he can still see what's going on in the main area that they seem to gravitate to. Time I'll spend with your dog As much as humanly possible. If I'm not at my studio, I'm chilling with your pal!
