Dog lover with 20 years of experience with dogs

Pet care experience

Dogs have always been a huge part of my life as my entire family is dog mad. I grew up with our black lab Meg, who we lost at 15. Back at my parents’s house we have an adopted 10-year old saluki Charlie, who I am obsessed with and miss very much! Over the past five years I have dog sat both in York and London, with many regulars who would stay for the day to enjoy cuddles and walkies, and even holiday stays. I am finalising my PhD currently and work from home most days, I am also available weekends. I plan to move to New Zealand in October but am open to regular sitting until then. I have lived in the area for a couple of years now and like to explore Clissold Park, Abney Park and Hackney Downs during my lunches, which are great spots for some dog walks! I always supply owners with cute photos and videos of their dog having a great day or walk (even when they roll in poop), so they never miss out on anything. I have experience looking after elderly dogs, as I was a carer for my dog Meg before we lost her. Although I am dog-mad and love all breeds, I have a special place in my heart for sighthounds. Please contact me with any questions, I look forward to hearing from you :)

Hannah was brilliant with Poppy! She came over a few days before for a visit, and then managed to keep her calm and happy despite her separation anxiety. Would definitely choose Hannah again, and also absolutely recommend! Thanks Hannah!

Hannah is lovely :) I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any dog owner. Paddy has his second day with her booked in already :)

When dog-sitting I prefer to have the dog in view at all times (you never know what they could get up to alone), so often join them to work on the bed if that's their chosen location for the day.

A typical day

Dog walks are the best part of dog sitting, as I know having a good sniff is the most exciting thing for most dogs. I love Abney Park, as there are so many places to explore. Dog walks will be at the pace of the specific dog, and they will never be pulled away from sniffing. Other dogs will always be approached with caution, checking with other owners if their dog is friendly and they happy for us to approach. The days often include lots of cuddles, with dogs welcome to join me on the sofa and say hello to everyone in my meetings.
