Pet care experience
Hi all! I am a rising sophomore who attends UMass Amherst. I've had a love for all animals since I was a little kid and have always felt a special connection with animals that is unlike my connection with humans. I never had pets in my house growing up because of a family member's allergies, but I always took care of my grandparents' dogs. I started dog-sitting and walking when I was 13 years old and I find immense joy in doing so. My goal as a pet caregiver is to make sure that your loved one is as comfortable as possible. I have a lot of experience working with anxious pups and am very understanding of the fact that like humans, dogs are emotional beings and need compassion and patience in order to thrive.

Hana has been our “go to” for pet care for the past five years. Our dog Bruno looks forward to seeing her whether for walks or dog sitting while we are away from home. She is dependable and conscientious, and one of the only people outside of family members who we trust to watch him. She is a true animal lover, with the patience to play and to handle our pup even if he becomes reactive. I highly recommend Hana for your pet care needs.
Hana is a true dog lover. She is beyond reliable and was loving and gentle with our miniature schnauzer Coco. Coco is anxious so Hana was very patient with her. Very soon Coco was running to greet her at the door and sitting on her lap and napping beside her. Hana babysat and dog walked for us for the year before she left for college. She is truly terrific.

I am highly attentive to dogs on walks and in the house (have worked with many a street scavenger and shoe theif) and it is important to make sure that I understand what a dog's triggers are. I'd prefer to keep them out of situations that could harm them than have to remove them from a bad one.

Do they have reactivity to other dogs and certain types of people (like children)? Are they are possessive or territorial? Do they have any triggers at home or during walks? Do they dislike being touched on certain areas of their body? Do they have any health concerns or medication? How long can they be left alone for, and how often do they need bathroom breaks?
A typical day
I love doing anything outdoor with dogs, including hikes, walks, trips to the dog park, etc. In addition to outdoor activities, I value playtime around the house like tug, fetch or chase. I believe mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise, so I love doing training, treat hiding, puzzle games, lick mats, and other fun games. And lastly, I love a good snuggle!

I don't have a set schedule this summer, but I'll most likely be working part time with plenty of time during the day to care for your pups.
