As a senior / rescue dog owner, I know all too well what's it like to trust someone else with the special care they require and the stress that uncertainty can cause an owner. Since I have the luxury of working from home, I decided to offer my home to help provide a sense of security for other pet owners when they have to leave their pet behind. Enjoy your adventure and rest assured your pet will be enjoying theirs. Though I live in an apartment, I still have ample space for an extra dog to hang out- including an onsite dog park as well as a city dog park less than a mile away so be sure to let me know how your pup is at the park and in the car (because it may be too hot to walk to the public park.) I also have a street facing balcony overlooking a busy road that has proven to be a major source of entertainment for my pup so fresh air won't be a problem. I joke that I'm a helicopter dog mom and I'm intentional about ensuring proper nutrition, hydration, potty breaks and belly rubs. My dog shares well and is good with other dogs after the excitement of introductions settles down. There's a chance she'll go take a nap and forget another dog is even here.
