Never met a dog I didn’t like!!!
Pet care experience
Howdy! Im new to Portland- my husband and I moved here in 2019 for my studies. I am a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology at George Fox, with an emphasis in pediatric health and gender. Prior to starting this program I worked in emergency mental health response for 4 years in Oklahoma after earning my MS and therapy license. I’m married to Sam, who works from home on east coast time, and also does Rover/Postmates at night-basically he’s hustling incredibly hard for me to pursue my dream, so he’s pretty great. We have 2 dogs: Kennedy, a completely blind, 9 YO black lab (she belongs to my best friend/roommate but we love her as our own! ) and Drake, our 5 YO red heeler mix. He’s spunky and stubborn and cuddly. Basically me in dog form! This year has been a dumpster fire, and everyone has been stretched and prodded in one way or another- part of my self-care is surrounding myself with dogs and other pets. I have years of experience attending to the various needs of animals, and will play close attention to what your animal needs, including making sure during the time you're away, that your animal almost forgets how sad they are that you're gone! I understand the importance of frequent potty breaks (especially for the younger pups and the older doggos). I understand the need for consistency so if you're training your dogs I will be mindful to engage with them in a way that reinforces what you're teaching, while also giving them all the positive affirmation and ear scratches!
Reviews
It was so nice to be able to leave my dogs with Haley with complete confidence they would be cared for. We have a bratty teething puppy who peed on her foot and decided to have 2 evening crazies instead of his usual 1, and she was still smiling when we got home.
Haley is the best! She took care of my two dogs and two cats for a long weekend and did an incredible job. I came home to a clean house with 4 happy animas. Haley was communicative throughout the entire process and so reliable. She was fantastic with my large dogs who needs tons of attention. Thanks Haley for everything!
Yet again, Haley is our dream! She took great care of our sweet & anxious lil nugget and was super responsive any time we needed something.
Haley is the single best dog sitter we have ever had. She is so incredibly communicative and on top of things and does her best to be flexible (within reason) and is just all around awesome. Our dog has separation anxiety so he requires attention and leaving him alone for even an hour can be quite involved. Haley is masterful at managing all of this and getting in touch if she has any questions. Thanks Haley!

Safety, trust & environment
I ask a lot of questions as they come up- there’s so many little things with our animals, right? Furniture access, treats, personality quirks. I like to make the animal’s routine as similar to when you’re home as possible. I am sure to note emergency exits, potential risks, etc. I will communicate often, but not too often 😉
Information Haley M. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences and I want to know what you love about your dog! Do they have a cute face they make when they sleep? Do their ears flop to one side and you have to see it every day? Tell me those things!
A typical day
My dog loves the dog park so if you're okay with your dog socializing, I would love to take them there for some monitored play time with other dogs! I also love walks, fetch, and cuddles!

Availability
I have a weird schedule with being a full time doctoral student as I am working as a provider as part of my training. That means I have flexibility to schedule drop ins or house sitting around my program commitments. My schedule says I am unavailable Mondays and Tuesdays, but that’s because those are my practicum days out in Salem. Please message me if you need a house sitting booking on those days so that we can tak through feasibility!
