Fear Free Level 2 Certified Veterinary Professional I’m Haleigh. Growing up, I always had animals. I remember how hard it was for my family to travel because we didn’t have anyone to watch them. If we did find someone to watch them, we’d be wondering if they were being properly cared for. As a pet sitter, I want owners to be able to go on their long-deserved vacations without stressing about their fur babies. Animals are my passion. I recently graduated from UMD with a Bachelor's in Animal Science. I’ve owned all sizes of dogs in the past. I currently have a huge Saint Bernard mix, a white Shepherd mix, and what I loving like to call a small super mutt. I also have experience looking after cats and barn animals. I currently work as a veterinary assistant at a veterinary ophthalmologist office. Because of my love for pets and ensuring they get the best care I became "Fear Free" certified and apply those skills in every interaction. All furry guests are treated like family here. Pups are welcome to relax on the couch and cuddle up close with me. I always keep a stock of amazing canine treats on hand. I understand that pets are a reflection of their owners and the training they’ve had. When I pet sit, I always respect this foundation.

I will follow the routine you have established for your furry companion. If this means they are walked strictly on a harness then I will use a harness every time. I am always mindful when opening doors that lead to the outside to ensure no escaped pets.

Before looking after your pup, it would be helpful if you could answer the following questions: - Does your dog have any triggers? - Do they have any food allergies? - Is there anything your dog is not allowed to do (jump, be on furniture, play tug-of-war, etc.)? - Is there any training you would like me to work on with your pooch? - Do they have any aggression issues? - Is there anything else I should know about your pet?
A typical day
When I meet a new dog, I approach them at their own pace. I understand that not all canines love all humans and that some need time to warm up to a new person. I usually bring at least two different treats to offer a new pet. If they have a favorite toy or game, I try to engage them with that. For daily walks, I try to stick to places nearby because some dogs don't do well in the car. If I can avoid stressing them out with the unknown, then that's what I'll do. Where we go will also depend on the weather. I strive to make owners feel comfortable leaving their fur babies with me. If you want three pictures a day of your dog, I will do that. If you have a pooch with special dietary requirements, I will do my best to make sure those are met. I always respond to messages in a timely manner. I look forward to meeting your pup!

My schedule is fairly open, typically if given a few days notice I can accommodate most requests. Please reach out to see if I'm available to meet your needs. My current job schedule is Monday through Thursday 8am to approximately 6:30pm.
