Pet care experience
I've been caring for and learning about animals all my life. I've had dogs all my life, and I also have experience with snakes, geckos, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, and lizards. I have two dogs currently, a husky and a border collie, and we participate in things like joring, disc, rally obedience, tracking, and tricks. I am currently working towards getting my training certification (CPDT-KA) and have a particular interest in behavioral adjustment training. I have experience raising and training two of my own puppies, and offer my help regularly to other puppy owners. I also have experience caring for senior pets. I'm a college student, so my schedule varies by semester. Currently, I have plenty of time between classes for daytime visits and midday care. Overnight stays are also possible over the weekends. I intend to be in Houghton for Thanksgiving. I can follow any directions a pet owner might request and will work to keep your pets routine uninterrupted. Dogs will be supervised closely and will have my full attention while in my care. Pet owners will receive photo updates regularly.

Haleigh took care of my Ripley today and I am so grateful for her being able to accommodate me and my last minute booking! She was super fast at responding and communication was great! I will absolutely be having her care for my girl again. Thank you again!!
I could not recommend Haleigh enough! She is excellent with dogs and is very good at reading them to understand their moods. If you have a multidog house hold she gives each dog their own one on one time to ensure no one is left out and to get a better feel for their behaviors and stress level.

A typical day
I love providing new and fun enrichment to dogs depending on what they like. It might be a sniffari walk, food puzzle, trick training session, a game of fetch, or even just people watching on the front porch. I tend to stick to the trail systems since dogs really thrive when allowed to explore nature - but a good walk around the block is always fun as well. For more laid back pets, I'm happy with to just keep each other company and offer as many pets as they want.
