Love Your Dog in West Rogers Park
Pet care experience
Do you need a day off from working from home with your best friend? We are a family of 4 1/2 (3 full time humans, a doxie-doodle, and a college student who comes home from time to time. On April 25th we lost our beloved Schnoodle and recently adopted a 6 year old doxie-doodle. The schnoodle survived IVDD and was diabetic for the last two years of his life. Shiloh the doxie doodle is a super chill dog but does not like to go on walks. He came from a home of 11 dogs with an owner who couldn't care for them so he's lonely! We are currently working from home most of the time, and the super responsible high school senior is home all of the time. So someone is home all day, most days. As of today (12/28/20) we are COVID-Free and (with the exception of the high school senior who tests positive for antibodies even though we don't know when she had it) have tested negative for anti-bodies on multiple occasions (for what is worth). We take COVID-19 extremely seriously and practice strict social distancing and mask wearing. Any pets, however, will be fully integrated into our household for walks, play, and snuggles. We have a typical Chicago bungalow with a fenced in back yard. We recently upgraded to central air so your pet will be comfortabl year round. We can’t wait to meet your pet. Your dog can sleep in the kitchen or one of our bedrooms, depending on the particular situation. We also have a full basement for play on rainy days. We do require current vaccinations and prefer to host dogs that are microchipped. We can't wait to host and care for your pet. About this sitter: We are a family of 3 1/2, 2 adults, a 21 year old college student who may or may not be going back to school, and a high school senior who is probably not going to school. We lost our precious schnoodle three months ago and are ready to bring pets back into our home on a part time basis. We will shower your pup with love. Why I love dog sitting I grew up with dogs. I love them all. About my yard We have a standard bungalow backyard with a small brick patio and a grassy area. It is completely fenced in. Over the summer we set out a dog pool for the pups who love it. Even though we have the yard we prefer to walk all dogs at least 3 times a day in the neighborhood. My experience administering medication Yes ! Our schnoodle had diabetes and received two shots of insulin and many many pills a day for over two years.
Reviews
Rob and Gwen were wonderful caretakers for my dog. He usually can't get out the door fast enough. But he actually ran back in to say goodbye to Rob and Gwen's dog. Rob and Gwen were very accommodating. It helped so much. We can't wait to see them again. Norma
My dog always comes back in great shape and happy when he stays with Gwen. I think he actually doesn't want to come home. Makes me a little jealous
Gwen did a great job at keeping me posted with messages and pictures of my dog, and I appreciated it. Thanks to her and Rob for keeping an eye on my beast.
Our dog seemed to have a great time. We were so happy to find loving dog sitters in the neighborhood. Their whole family took care of Duke while we were away. Fun pictures and video too. Thank you to Gwen and the family for taking such good care of Duke!

Information Gwendolyn H. would like to know about your pet
We like to know where they like to sleep, how often they are fed, and how often they like to play. We know that all pups have accidents at times but if yours is prone to them we would like to know that ahead of time.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks Your dog will walk around our neighborhood- at least around the block. If the weather is nice s/he'll even go to one of the many nearby parks. But - we will not have your dog off leash anywhere but our back yard. We don't want them getting lost in unfamiliar surroundings. Someone is almost always home so your dog will be walked between 3-4 times a day, early morning, midday, end of work day, and evening. Your dog's sleeping arrangement It depends on where you dog would like to sleep and where you would like your dog to sleep. We have a king size bed and have shared it with not only our Schnoodle, but also many of our guest dogs-- even the wonderfully large Vizla/Lab mix that was our guest Time I'll spend with your dog Whenever we are home he will be a part of our family during his/her visit.
